Strathmore Hotel

Very friendly welcome by keiran who was very helpful , busy chatty chap who turned out to be an excellent barman! Rooms clean...beds comfy...Fantastic value! People of Morecombe were very friendly too...met wonderful characters in Little Bare micropub...a short walk away!

I liked everything about the property and yeah will recommend

The Hotel is comfortable and clean. the staff are excellent and very helpful. I happened to be there last weekend when storm Bert hit and I tried to go home and the trains were cancelled, I rang the hotel to see if I could book another night. The staff were very helpful and went out of there way to make sure I was OK. A repeat on the next day as i still could not travel. they went way beyond what was needed and was much appreciated by me. One down side is that the hotel is in nee of some TLC

Nice place if you're looking for the generic faceless corporate hotel this place is definitely not for you . If your looking for 70 s morcombe and wise old fashioned british seaside then your in luck. It's a one man band mainly (not the curly haired battle axe with the rolling pin sadly) who checked us in and he cracked jokes along the way. Room had a good view clean enough again reminiscent of faded 70s glory but more than adequate. Had a few beers after a day of site seeing but sadly restaurant closed did nt get back till after 9 but Mr comedian recommended a takeaway which was spot on . Breakfast was OK everything we needed and again the 1 man band serving he must never have time off. Booked through booking.com paid around 60 quid for 2 with breakfast and ample parking outside. I would visit again place needs major investment but sadly the quintessential seaside hotel will sadly be a thing of history hope these guys can hold on as long as possible.

I did not expect a lot,after all it is only 3, star!! However I expected the breakfast to be much better, only 8 pounds a head, but should have been at the very least, edible.... I paid for breakfast for 2 for 3 mornings, but only had on one morning, cancelled the other 2.Tried to have my 32 pounds refunded several times, but have given up now..Patricia Murphy. July. 2024.

The hotel is in need of some modernising ie carpets redecorating but it is comfortable and the staff were great. Parking is limited but there is plenty of space on the promenade directly opposite which is free.

Booked a 2 night stay and so glad it wasn't any longer. Pleasant enough experience checking in but even though it was after our checking in time our room wasn't ready so we're asked to take a seat in the bar until it was. It wasn't too long though, around 15 mins so we grabbed a quick drink while waiting. Quickly noticed the poor selection of drinks on offer. And the fact it was pretty much a one man band. One person tending to the reception and the bar and pretty much everything else so he was quick to tell us. Anyway once our room was ready we were given our key and told it was on the 2nd floor but the lift was out of order and we would have to use the stairs. Not a great start as I am disabled and struggle with stairs. I thought it was pretty obvious I had a disability so thought we might have been offered a room on either the ground or at least the first floor, but no. Anyway we made do. The room itself was clean and tidy but the bed was hard and made for 2 very uncomfortable nights. The bathroom was a decent size but I never knew yiu could get 1 ply toilet roll. I've never ever come across toilet roll so thin. False economy really as you obviously need to use more of it. Sockets were strangly high up on the wall were I think possible the TV was going to be wall mounted but then for what ever reason changed their mind and put it on the dresser which took up a lot of room making very little room for the tea making facilities. We didn't eat at the hotel as the menu was very limited so chose to eat out. The bar area itself is a reasonable size but lacks atmosphere. They don't even have any background music playing. Just some random guy who chose to take charge of the TV and channel hop. Changing channel every couple of minutes which was doing my head in. What drinks they did have were reasonably priced but just a very poor choice. And on our second evening they had ran out of what we did like as the drinks fridges had not been replenished. Again I suppose because yiu have one person doing the bar and the reception and the kitchen and what ever else. Not their fault I suppose. But It just means that service becomes very slow as you have to wait for him or her to come back from what they are busy doing. The website does say free parking available but parking is actually on the main road so if it's busy time of year this might prove difficult. Luckily for us it was quiet so managed to get park without issue. Would we stay here again. Sorry but no. Just not for us.

Avoid, it was £50 a night and it was a last minute pick as my accommodation had become unavailable so I needed 1 night hotel. On arrival I knew it was a mistake but I was so tired I couldn’t be bothered complaining. The bed was actually ok and sheets and towels clean. The bathroom shower was crap and made a wild noise when the water was used in the room every 15 secs. The hotel needs a deep clean and a refurb desperately. Anyone who chooses to eat or drink here have only them selves to blame. It was only £50 a night and that’s why it gets 2 stars rather than 1

Sad to say this hotel is not what it used to be. It is in need of renovation and particularly its plumbing system. We were disturbed by loud noises throughout the evening I assume when another room was using the water. I informed the manager but she didn't have any answers . The lady on reception who I think was the manager was lovely but seemed very overworked doing the bar as well as serving bar meals. There were very few people in the bar and no real atmosphere. The Seaview room was clean and shower was warm . We had to ask for the room to be serviced e.g bins emptied and tea and milk replacements as not done automatically. Lady who was doing the bedrooms seemed very over worked but very pleasant. The breakfast was OK. Buffet so like any buffet breakfast not particularly warm but certainly plentiful. Not sure we would return. A pity but the loud noises in the evening really were unacceptable and disturbing. This is no reflection on the staff who were lovely but owners need to spend money on this hotel. Doubt much money has been spent on renovations since our last visit although dining room had been renovated and was lovely but only served breakfast .

Not a bad place. Like lot of seaside hotels it could do with a bit of a refurb
