Strathmore Hotel

Basic in need of modernisation

First class hotel ,manageress could not do enough to help us and a very nice host, great food very, clean rooms and a very comfy bed well equipped for a few days holiday ,nice little bar as well and would highly recommend this hotel will definitely be back good price as well

Two night stay before Isle of Man transit. Hotel was clean, recently renovated in common areas and room was comfortable. That is until 07.00 am when the Mercedes Benz diesel of the kitchen extractor began it's morning shift directly outside the window of room 106. Staff were very apologetic and to be fair, there is nothing practical that would alleviate the issue. Apart from this inconvenience, I would stay again but request a room away from this one.

The stay was nice and the breakfast arrangements were great

Think check in time should be earlier and more flexible. The room was nice and clean but no water glasses. Staff were pleasant

The room was clean and spacious although the pipes were banging in the early hours when mentioned it was (brushed under the carpet) so to speak breakfast was lovely as its a dog friendly hotel I expected the bar area to be vacuumed every day but the same patch of dogs hair was there the night after

The staff were very friendly and really helpful. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished. New carpets and freshly decorated. We parked on the road opposite the hotel. The hotel is about a ten minute walk to the town centre. We had a lovely sea view. Lovely help your self breakfast hot and cold lots of choice .

Enjoyed the stay

Very tired rooms. Scruffy walls and dust in cupboards. Back of radiators are filthy and many scuffs on walls; these are all the basics of housekeeping. Also, there's a menu in the rooms promoting the restaurant that is completely closed.
