Hilton Yala Resort

Just spent a few days at the Hilton Yala and honestly, it’s a bit of a gem. The location is unreal — right in the middle of Yala National Park, so you feel properly tucked away, but still surrounded by all the comforts you’d want. The hotel is new, super modern, but still has that classic, natural look that fits the area perfectly. The food was great, the pool was fantastic, and the whole place just feels like a little hideaway. You’re literally sitting there and suddenly you spot wildlife moving around nearby — it’s a pretty special experience. If you’re heading to Yala and want something chilled, comfortable, and unique, this place is worth it.

I would have had this place as a 10 out of 10, but there were a few things that let it down for me. First, the beds are super hard — not the best sleep if you prefer something softer. And even though the food was great, the menu is very limited. I’d honestly suggest they rotate menus each night of the week so guests staying longer than four nights always have something new to try. The staff were super friendly, no complaints there, but on a few occasions I did have to remind them about my orders or follow up, which shouldn’t really be happening at a hotel of this level. And if you’re going with small kids, I’d only recommend a maximum of two nights. It’s a stunning spot, but it’s not really designed with children in mind.

There wasn’t really much I didn’t like, the dogs were a little noisy but their puppy’s were so cute that it made it all worth it.

Die Lage des Hotels direkt im Yala Park und an den Dünen zum Meer ist beeindruckend. Wir hatten die Pool villa gebucht und diese war von der Ausstattung her fantastisch. Das Personal war freundlich und stets bemüht einem einen perfekten Service zu bieten. Frühstück und Abendessen werden a la carte serviert und waren qualitativ hochwertig und schmackhaft.

Die tolle Lage direkt im Nationalpark hat zumindest hier, auch ihre Nachteile. Man darf nicht allein zum Strand gehen, was echt schade ist und die tolle Dünen Landschaft nur mit einem guide gegen Gebühr besuchen. Aus Sicherheitsgründen wird die Anlage rund um die Uhr von Kameras und security überwacht, so dass man auch in seiner privaten Pool villa ein bißchen das Gefühl hat: " big brother is watching you". Die Auswahl an Speisen könnte zu allen Mahlzeiten etwas vielfältiger sein. Wir waren vier Nächte da und dann wird es schon etwas langweilig. Der Koch könnte zum Beispiel jeden Tag 2 oder 3 Specials of the day anbieten die nicht auf der Karte stehen, das wäre toll! Extras lassen sich trotz intensiver schriftlicher Absprache und Bestätigung leider nur schwer oder garnicht verwirklichen. So war es leider nicht möglich einen Blumenstrauß oder eine Blütenblätter Bettdekoration als Überraschung für meine Frau zum Geburtstag zu organisieren. Schade! Es gab dann aber einen Überraschungs Geburtstagskuchen zum Frühstück, was sehr schön war!

Absolutely outstanding. From the moment we got to the resort, to the briefing of the services to ensure our safety and the world class hospitality of the staff. I was so impressed. I’ve stayed at a number of Hilton’s and without much expectation, this compares to the best hotels in the world. The food is incredible, the staff do every thing they can to make sure you feel comfortable and welcome. From bringing my Apple Watch to the gym to allowing me to checking out 3 whole hours late so I could get some rest as we had an early morning safari and we had to drive 4 hours to the airport once checked out. I can only say - this resort was nothing short of a 10/10 experience. Value for money as well!
