"Home away from home"

10.0

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home, it was super cute and cosy. The Wi-Fi was great, the kitchen was well-equipped, and everything was spotless. The beds were comfortable, with clean linen and towels provided, and there was plenty of storage. Fans in each room were a nice touch too. The location was fantastic, just a 15 minute walk to the covered market, with easy access to local buses as well as routes to London and the airport from St Clements. Cowley Road has loads of great restaurants, and having a big Tesco ( 5 mins walk) and Sainsbury’s nearby was really convenient. Loved the coffee at Nepa ( 2 min walk), and drinks and Vibe at Port Mahon and the Big Society( both 1 min away). We also followed Gary’s recommendations and had a great time, watched a movie at Ultimate Picture Palace ( 1 min away) , enjoyed a delicious lunch at Spiced Roots (definitely try their homemade sorrel!), and had amazing food at Arbequina (make sure to book early). ( both 4 mins away) Aaron was quick and responsive  throughout. Thanks for letting us check in early too. Highly recommend!

"All in all, great location but house needs some time, love and thought put into it."

6.0

The location of the property is excellent for exploring central Oxford. The city centre is only 15 to 20 minutes' walk away, and the local area also has a number of shops, restaurants and other amenities. The bedding and duvet were of good quality, and the heating for the property was efficient.

Unfortunately the property requires some serious care and attention and generally feels unloved by the owners. We had an ant infestation, with a line of ants trailing from the hallway diagonally across the dining room, making this room unusable. It's clear they were aware of an issue as there were two bottles of ant powder underneath the sink.We contacted the property manager to be told they 'thought this had been resolved'. We put some of the ant powder down ourselves (with the manager's permission), only for more of the infestation to move to the kitchen and around where we were storing food. Property was not particularly clean when we arrived, windows were covered with cobwebs; the garden furniture was filthy+ the vegetation was massively overgrown- waist-high nettles and overhanging bushes; the window blinds inside the rear bedroom+in the lounge were broken so could not be opened. There are also aspects of the property that have not been thought through, no bedside lights/smaller lamps in two of the bedrooms or the lounge;+many standard kitchen amenities missing such as a pair of oven gloves. Also no blind on the bathroom window, so although the glass is frosted,if bathroom light is on at night the room is visible from the street. Also the 'additional toilet' is actually an out-house toilet. Re:car parking, the info provided by the owner/manager is outdated;they state that you can 'park your car in a free spot on the street', but fail to say that during daytime hours these spots are limited to one hour only.Free on-street parking in any of the surrounding streets is resident-only,so be prepared that if you drive to the property you will likely be paying for an expensive public car park.A warning about Oxford congestion charge would have been helpful.Reviews from Jan 26 and Oct 25 are highlighting some of the same issues that are still unresolved.

"Best place"

10.0

I had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb. The location was amazing just a 20 minute walk to the city centre and only a 3 minute bus ride. The bus stop was also incredibly convenient, just a 1 minute walk from the house. The host kindly allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated. It made our arrival much easier and more comfortable. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, including frying pans, glasses, mugs, and a refrigerator. The bathroom was incredible, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The entire house had heating, so it felt very cosy and warm throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are thinking of visiting oxford.

"Loved Oxford and this house with a little TLC is a gem."

Perfect location, easy to catch buses, walking distance to shops and High Street too. Bed linen ,towels etc excellent quality. Kitchen has everything you need.

Windows not double glazed and one cracked in lounge. Broken glass table on floor behind sofa in lounge! Leaking gutter over front door , not pleasant when trying to access key. Ivy growing inside window in bedrooms.

"Very Good"

7.0

The house is OK, especially for a short stay. Bedrooms are OK and the location is good - 15 minutes walking from High Street.

The house is a typical old English building - single pain windows (cold and noise), small rooms and generally not very comfortable. The house requires a lot of refurbishing until it meets expected standards. Don't expect to park on the street - there are few places, but they are for short stay - one or three hours. The internet around was very week and I was not able to open my e-mail to retrieve the code for the keys. Write it down somewhere in advance.
