Jack was super kind and showed us where to park, the room and the kitchen where you could find snacks and drinks at any time of the day - it’s a plus! He even gave us suggestions on the city and villages around. Our stay was absolutely great, we will be back!

Le Pinfold cottage est très bien situé pour visiter York :le bus s'arrête juste devant. La chambre est petite mais confortable. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Nos hôtes sont très attentionnés et veillent à ce qu'on ne manque de rien. Leur accueil chaleureux est très agréable. Bref un endroit où il fait bon s'arrêter et où l'on peut revenir.

Location works well for us on our way from London to Edinburgh. We managed to visit York as the house is just 30 minutes walk from York centre. The host is very friendly and helpful.

Our bedroom was facing the road which was quite noisy. The advice is to ask the room facing the parking.

Location was chosen for ease of bus transport into York and there were regular buses throughout the day.

Jack and Ellie were very friendly and helpful. There perhaps needed to be more space in the bathroom ie a shelf to put toiletries on and some bigger hooks for bath towels.

Unfortunately, the street at which it is located is relatively noisy - earbuds recommended

Jack was a lovely host, very helpful, especially with suitcase carrying to & from the room. Snacks etc. always available on a help yourself basis. Good local knowledge regarding places to visit. Kindly lent us some season tickets to various tourist attractions at no cost to us. Highly recommended venue and host.

The location was great, the room had everything we needed, comfy bed and lovely hosts!

My friend and I visited for 2 nights at Pinfold Cottage, staying on a Friday and Saturday night. We met Jack, the owner on arrival, and our welcome was so warm and friendly. The cottage is delightful and perfectly located on the high street. It's close to shops, bars, and restaurants. Bus stop right outside, and the journey into York is very short. We walked along the river, suggested by Jack, which only took about 30 minutes and was so lovely. We had a cosy room with a shower that served us well. Breakfast was of a help yourself variety with a fine selection of just about anything you could think of to set you up for the day. Jack & Ellie certainly went above and beyond with an extra selection of snacks and drinks that you could help yourself to whenever you fancied. We took advantage of Jack's recommendations of visiting Spark for food and drinks. The Blue Balkan, Polish restaurant, and the Mad Alice tour, we loved them all and can also recommend. We visited York Minster and so many fabulous bars, The House of Trembling Madness The Golden Fleece The Evil Eye Guy Fawkes The Bluebell Valhalla. Kennedy's was where we danced our legs off in the evening. The Shambles was, of course , a must visit, and I had a gorgeous egg, cress & black pudding granary sandwich at Bennets's. Cakes at The Old York Tea room definitely deserve a mention. There is so much to do, and Pinfold Cottage is the perfect base to do it from, I can't recommend a visit here enough, and I would for sure go back again. Room needed black out blind or curtains, which was acknowledged by Jack, the owner who was already taking steps to rectify.
