Pinfold Cottage York

The welcome from Jake was genuine and he did all he could to make my stay an absolute pleasure. My room was clean and very comfortable. There are some nice touches, including a fridge freezer packed with drinks and snacks that guests are encouraged to help themselves to. Breakfast was a very sociable time, which was great for a solo traveller. The house is in an excellent location for exploring the city of York - there is secure off road parking at rear and bus stops on the doorstop and less than 10 minutes ride to the city centre.

Location brilliant, loved the relaxed feel of the place. The help yourself breakfast was great too no pressure to dine at a certain time. Lots of options too. Communal fridge and help yourself to snacks were a lovely little extra. Jack was super helpful with any questions we had. Defo recommend for a chilled out stay after a busy day in York.

Nothing, everything it was perfect.

Jack was a welcoming host and the property was in an excellent location for sightseeing in York and visiting the designer shopping centre. Free parking onsite and WiFi much appreciated. Breakfast was a help yourself continental style, with a good choice of fruit and yoghurts and various breads. Jack was on hand to make hot drinks and chat about our plans for the day. The treat cupboard was far too tempting! Our room was clean and comfortable, and we considered it good value for what we had paid.

The shower was a little temperamental and there was a note in the bathroom to make us aware of such. We would have appreciated a shelf or a least a couple of hooks in the bathroom to place our toiletries as space was limited, but these were minor issues.

Perfect location and easy to find; private parking and relaxed, family feel.

Busy road to the front of the property but it wasn’t a problem as we chose a room to the rear.

Jack and Ellie are delightful hosts who have thought of everything and we enjoyed our three night stay enormously. Their location just off the ring road and on a bus route direct to the city centre make it an ideal base for exploring this wonderful city. And when you’ve had your fill of Romans and Saxons and Vikings and everything, you can always enjoy a spot of retail therapy in the Designer Outlet 5 minutes away (also on the bus route). Highly recommended!
