The Lodges at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate

Fabulous location and wasnt to far for us! Nice atmosphere maybe a bit quiet but understandable for the time of year.. We had a meal in Palmers which was gorgeous and a good variety of food! Maybe a bit expensive compared to the portion sizes but it definitely fills you and was really tasty!! Would absolutely recommend - great atmosphere and friendly staff !

Raed was so professional and pleasant. He really elevated the hotel and experience to create an elegant atmosphere!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Glenlo Abbey. The building was beautiful and the Christmas decor looked great. Our room was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic. And we enjoyed our evening at the bar chatting with Doroti - she made fantastic cocktails!

Had an excellent stay here with my mom while traveling through Ireland to celebrate a milestone birthday. The location is just a short drive from the city center, which was perfect for us since we had a car. The highlight of our stay, aside from the obvious charm of sleeping in a castle, was the incredible hospitality. I highly recommend the smoked old fashioned in the hotel bar, the pumpkin ravioli in the Palmer Kitchen, and a window seat at breakfast for the view. The maître d’, Raed, was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He made us feel as though we were guests in his own home.

Everything was great, food, service, atmosphere. We had no complaints. It was the first time that I was happy with the chicken supreme in Ireland! All staff were very helpful and friendly, specially Giorgio 😊☘️

First of all I would like to say thanks for the room upgrade. It was the icing on the cake for our two night stay. The room was spacious with a great view. The bed was very comfortable. The towels were large and soft. The food was terrific, especially dinner in the Pullman. It was a dinner not to be forgotten. We also ate in Palmers and the food was also very good. We had breakfast on the first morning in the River Room. It really was a fine dining breakfast. Unfortunately the service was a bit slow and they got my order wrong. But this was rectified quickly. There was also a delay in replenishing the bread selection. We had breakfast the second morning in Palmers. This was a bit of a step down from the River Room, but we understood the River Room was undergoing renovation. Service was quick but unfortunately they got my order wrong again. Again this was quickly rectified. A few small points. The TV remote control was dodgy with some buttons not working and some sticking. A new remote would cost €10. Why not replace them when they start to look worn? There were two luggage racks in our room. The second was impinging on access and I managed to stub my toe on it the first night when going to the bathroom in the dark. When having breakfast in Palmers I was facing the mirrored wall. There were handprints and smudges on the mirror. It was a bit off putting. Despite these few minor faults I would have no hesitation in recommending the Glenlo Hotel for that special break away and have given it a five star rating.

We had very nice accomodation in a town house suite for our party of 4 adults and two young children. Everything was spotless. (There was an enormous spider in the bathroom! LOL!) . Only complaint was no outlet near a mirror for the hairdryer. I had a bad hair day. We ordered room service for dinner which was delicious. The setting was lovely and immaculately kept. The highlight of our visit was the falconry experience with Jason. It was enjoyed by the children and adults alike. Jason was very kind and patient with our youngsters. Would highly recommend this hotel but especially the falconry.

The Glenlo is superb in every way. Our room was spacious and clean, breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, and the staff (especially the doormen) treated us like VIPs. Don’t miss the Pullman restaurant if you want to splurge, and try to catch a movie in their nostalgic small theater. Nearby Galway has lots of sights and restaurants, and don’t miss the Aran islands if you have time for a day tour. We highly recommend the Glenlo!

We chose to stay at the Glenlo Abbey Hotel for our 50th Wedding Anniversary and it was an excellent choice! The accommodations and decor are spectacular and the service is amazing. We would like to recognize George B. who went beyond the call of duty for our every need and comfort. He is a gracious gentleman and it shows the Glenlo Abbey Hotel employs only the best. We had another lovely visit to Glenlo Abbey. This time we were celebrating a very special occasion which was acknowledged several times by staff. Our rooms were lovely and the facilities excellent. Our only disappointment was the breakfast. Staff were not knowledgeable about vegan options and the quality of the vegan breakfast had significantly deteriorated from our last experience at Glenlo.
