The Lodges at Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate

The atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The room was spectacular. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire resort was extremely clean. We had an amazing experience with our Bar Tender/Server Doroti. She was amazing. She made us feel right at home and gave us exemplary service. We really felt like we got to know her while we were there. We will definitely be back!

We had two nights here on a package that included breakfast and one dinner in the Pullman restaurant that we were very much looking forward to. Unfortunately we were disappointed with several features of the hotel. Firstly, no gym, or pool or sauna. It rained constantly for the two days we were there and given the hotel is 5 kms from the city centre of Galway , there is little to do at the hotel itself. The 9 hole golf course was unplayable given the rain and no gym made any physical activity hard to find. On our second night we dined in the Pullman restaurant, 7 course degustation, and after almost 2.5 hours only the first 3 courses had been served. After some protestations, we. Received the two mains concurrently, and the 3 desserts concurrently which diminished the whole experience. We were told the delays were because the first carriage of the restaurant was full which disappointed us further as we were made to feel second class. The redeeming feature were the staff looking after us. They were apologetic, professional and sincere which softened the disappointment of a slow, clunky and poor degustation event. On the other hand, breakfast is a triumph. The staff wonderful too, the cold and hot offerings amazing and the room beautiful. We have spent the last 4 weeks touring some amazing g lodges, Manors and castles in Ireland and were blown away but the staff wonderful too, comfort, opulence of every place we stayed until the Glenlo Abbey. I would certainly revisit Glenlo Abbey in the future as the hotel has some beautiful and classical features and the staff are amazing. I would just skip one of their signature restaurants, the Pullman.

Amazing food. Doroti gave service that was attentive, professional and charming. Gave us such a great “local flavor” with her insights and beautiful accent!!

Glenn Abby is a Five start resort, the rooms, accommodations, golf, staff and food all exceeded my expectations. The staff was above and beyond gracious and helpful. I have to call out Joseph and Doroti for their kindness, respect and hospitality, it was heartwarming.

We had a great day the spa thanks to Lina! It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Treatments were amazing and a great atmosphere!

Just had breakfast, what a wonderful way to start the day!!! Scones, muffins eggs Benedict, all delicious!!! Great coffee and a wonderful staff!!! The Glenn Abbey is top shelf!!!

Amazing hotel and great staff. We were new to ireland but this gentleman I think his name was Raul that worked within the hotel guided us to the restaurant, explained the history of the hotel and the area, and was overall a complete gent. Very enthusiastic and friendly character. The room was suburb and the food was exactly what we expected and needed when arriving to Galway. 5/5 - thanks again for all your help Raul!

Loud music played till 3 A M. After numerous calls to manager; just got “sorry”. Avoid this hotel!!! Received a handicap room that no one informed us about. Water all over the floor, sink upon the toilet. Only stay here if you plan to stay up all night and use the facilities with water at your feet.

Avoid this one. After a long day of travel, waited 2 hours for luggage (despite asking at reception twice only to be told it’s on the way); finally found our car, which was to be valet parked, still sitting out front with the luggage in the back. Missed dinner reservation. Rude bartender. Room just okay. When asked upon checkout how our stay was, we relayed the circumstances, heard the apologies again, and were told that the manager would be in touch within 24 hours (never heard from anyone). Avoid this one.

We stayed three nights and had a wonderful experience with you from the dining on the train to the amazing breakfasts every morning. Raed was a very professional, friendly and knowledgeable host in the breakfast room. Regards Michelle
