Secrets Tides Punta Cana All Inclusive - Adults Only

We had an amazing time at Secret Tides. The resort is beautifully designed and so many places for relaxation, romance and adventure. The food was delicious. The shows were dynamic. I would definitely return for another wonderful vacation. I highly recommend it for couples, honeymoons and a romantic giveaway.

This was my first time at a Secrets resorts and it did not disappoint. I ended up booking a swim out room for 9 days . From the moment I arrived the service was incredible. Everyone i encountered was incredibly friendly. I did the preferred club which was fantastic. I would definitely do that again . It gets you into the preferred pool which isn't necessarily a big deal but there are a couple restaurants that are exclusive to preferred guests . The beach when I went wasn't the best but the pools more than made up for it. Shows were entertaining and the sports bar had some fun nights with Karaoke I believe. This resort is about 45 minutes from the airport in the Uvero Alto region . Secrets Tides is definitely one of the best resorts in Punta Cana . I have stayed at Excellence El Carmen, Hyatt Zilara, Sanctuary Cap Cana . This is a notch above .

Excellent room, bed, comfort. Resort is terrific. Lots of pools and bars and food. Staff is top rate. Jonathan deserves particular compliments. It was my birthday, and he went above and beyond in making it special. Highly recommend this resort.

Diego our butler was great! The resort is beautiful and very clean! Restaurants were above average for all inclusives! We will definitely be back!

We absolutely loved our stay in Punta Cana!! Secrets Tides was an absolute dream and everything we had hoped for our Honeymoon! We had the privilege of having Jeury as our butler and I must say he was AMAZING!! He always had a smile on his face, saying hello to everyone, made sure we had everything we needed daily, made reservations for us, and genuinely turned into a lifelong friend! We can’t wait to go back for not only the resort but for Jeury!

Everything looks brand new and in great shape The staff is very attentive. The food was very good especially the buffet.

*Just a little about this reviewer for the readers perspective. My husband and I are very active and social people, we don’t vacation to be secluded and restful. Having said that, here is our experience at Tides: The property is immaculate, easy to navigate and has Lots of pool space. The Preferred pool is not isolated at all, which we really liked because it still felt like part of the vibe going on. Some may not like that if they want a quiet secluded space. The beach is very nice, very little seaweed if any. The property was fully booked due to the Jamaica resort bookings being shifted over but it was still not difficult to find a pool lounge chair even after 10 am. The food was pretty on par with other Secrets resorts, the menus slightly different. Suprisingly a lot more steak options than seafood. The filet at Portofino was really good! There is a steak option at all the specialty restaurants I believe, except maybe Merkari, and I tried them all. The chicken wings at the food truck by the preferred pool are crispy and really good, they really need to get wing sauce though because the only option is bbq or ketchup but they really are good anyway. We were told by several that the bar food at the sports bar (Desires) was really good, chicken wings, jalapeño poppers etc, but we never tried it. Tierra is the Brazilian restaurant and they had a steak with a chimichuri sauce that was really good. Oceano has the best view while dinning, it overlooks the ocean and the breeze comes through and it’s beautiful, I had the salmon and I was not disappointed. Since Secrets, Dreams and Breathless were all fully booked we were not able to do the “Sip, Savor, and See” to visit the other resorts but our butler did get us a pass to go over to Breathless one night to visit the Casino. We ended up at the Breathless Night Club instead as it was in full swing when we got there and we ended up dancing until 2 am, we never even saw the casino, haha. The preferred lounge bar is the best for drinks, Felix “Why Not” is excellent, his gin and tonics and espresso Martinis were great. Juan at the preferred swim up bar makes great drinks too. I have to give comment on the variety and quality of the activities and entertainment. During the day there were the usual pool activities spread out through the day; beach and pool volleyball, blackjack, cornhole, giant darts, water aerobics, Etc. but then there was jewelers making, mixology classes, Spanish classes, painting on the beach and others I can’t even remember. Shout out to Gregory on the activities staff, he went above and beyond. Nightly entertainment was just as diverse and the quality was very good compared to other Secrets we’ve been to. The Queen show is one not to miss, karaoke was fun to watch, the white party and neon party on the beach were lively as well, maybe it was because the resort was full but all events were highly attended. For preferred experience; due to the resort being full we didn’t get room upgrade until our 5th night but our butler Ezy was very good, friendly, attentive, met all our needs and anticipated some too, he booked us a Habachi dinner without having to ask. Other couples we met were not so happy with their butlers but ours was amazing, he was always out and about or easily reachable by text, we saw him daily and he was responsive to all of our requests (we are not difficult or needy type people but we still appreciate his attentiveness). The Spa was 5 star as expected, our valet Suni at the hydrotherapy was great, our massages, I had relaxation and my husband had deep tissue, were both great as expected. On a side note, we did walk left down the beach to Tropical Treasures and had a massage there, I was hesitant to do it but it was so good we went back again a few days later. Only $40 a person for an hour and very good. About the gym I will have to quote my husband because I did not step foot inside this time :) “It was probably fine for the normal person. Especially on vacation. Not enough free weights, No full size barbell, Only treadmills and elliptical for cardio.” We did not leave the resort for any excursions this trip but there was plenty to keep us entertained on site. Overall experience was as expected at a Secrets resort plus another star for this one, we really enjoyed the property and experience. - Morgan & Greg

We just returned from an unforgettable vacation at Secret Tides Punta Cana with 5 other couples. The resort was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the food, drinks and special amenities. What made our stay exceptional was our butler, Ezy. Ezy went above and beyond to attend to every detail that made our stay enjoyable. He secured dinner reservations for us each night and helped us navigate the resort. He arranged golf cart transportation around the resort for those in our party who needed it. Ezy checked in with us each day to talk, answer questions and to make sure that we had everything we needed and wanted. We highly recommend this resort and if you can, ask for Ezy!

Such a beautiful resort. It is less than two years old so everything worked and was very clean. The food was very good and no reservations needed for the specialty restaurants at night and hardly any wait if you went around 7:30. We loved the Coco Cafe . Jennifer and her staff were so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They made me an Italian Monk specialty coffee every night and remembered me and how to make it after the first night. The desserts there were great also. The bar staff seemed to be able to make anything and the cocktail of the day was a great idea. They use only reusable plastic glasses for drinks and no plastic straws!!!!!! The beach was wide, had many lounge chairs and you could walk for miles. Catherine the concierge was very helpful and kind. I looked for the snorkeling equipment for 5 days to no avail. No one was manning the desk. Catherine took the time to walk me to the water sport kiosk and helped me to finally get the equipment Also a special thanks to Edwin in maintenance who helped a damsel in distress with a broken shoe. His repair lasted for the rest of our holiday! We had the best skirt steak ever( a couple of times) at the Amazonian restaurant ! The only thing that bothered us was that they have a sustainability policy but leave the lights on in all the stairways and the room number signs 24 hours a day. There is no need for it as there is so much natural light and windows to light these areas during the day. Seems wasteful.

For context,We have been all over the DR. Prob 15 trips. We stay at higher end AI’s. Excellence, Hyatt, Secrets. Overall, I didn’t enjoy the first half of our 10 day stay. The vibe was off. I felt like I was on a cruise ship. The second half was better. The difference? Occupancy and clientele. TLDR Food is mid. There is no ‘fancy’ restaurant like most resorts have Rooms are lovely. Preferred didn’t feel like much of an upgrade. Beach is great I complain a lot in this review, but as I walked down the beach and came back to Secrets, it was much nicer than the other resorts Pros: 1. We stayed in an ocean front master suite. It was swanky 10/10. It;s better in real life than the pics. 2. The beach. Really nice. The actual beach is nice and the set up is nice. Lots of umbrellas and space between them 3. Our butler (and it seemed like all the butlers) take good care of their guests. They are basically your advocate if somethings not right and your concierge. They will make sure you are set up at your pool chair in the morning so - no towel game for you. 4. The pool layouts are good. They are unobstructed by buildings (which is something I disliked at excellence el Carmen and secrets royal beach). They are large enough and warm enough in early December. 5. Restaurant availability. The food overall was mid at best, but when the resort was busy all were open including the buffet for dinner. Cons: 1. Lunch! For a 5 star, lunch options were weak. Like why am I standing in line 30 minutes to get a hot dog? We stayed preferred, so we did have a sit option for lunch at the beach, which was okay. If you don’t want to commit that much time, you are standing in line, like a 3 star. The options are pretty low end. They need a beach buffet. You could also walk all the way up to the lobby and go to the buffet for lunch, but it’s far. 2. Preferred club. The worst I have ever seen. First, it’s a small bar I located mid resort with a keurig level coffee machine (yup, pods), a bar that is supposed to have premium liquor, but they had very little. It was always out, so they were trying to serve the stuff you don’t need to pay extra for, and they had a few snacks, but nothing great. 3. Swim outs. We didn’t have one, but they seemed underutilized. Most of them connected with the room next door only. So you can’t swim up and down your room block and there is no way out other than through your room. Might be a drag if you want to move between the main pools and your swim out. 4. Preferred pool. It’s nice and the service is good, but the chairs are about 6 inches apart and oddly positioned to block all of th pool entrances. 5. Resort layout. This was mostly just a con for us because we were right at the ocean, but the resort is oriented in a long row lobby to ocean. The concentration of services is at the lobby, so if you want to get a real coffee, it’s about a kilometre each way. The buffet is at the lobby and most of the restaurants. 6. Our welcome to the resort. It was terrible. Nobody offered us a drink.or barely said hello. Our room wasn’t ready (fair-we arrived a bit before 3pm). The preferred checkin person sat in his chair, pointed outward and told us to go sit in the buffet. That was it. 0/5 stars. Also, the drive into the resort is seriously underwhelming. Almost shabby. They could do some better landscaping. 7. Clientele. People, I get we are on vacation, but stop screaming. Screaming for fun or if you are partying, fine. But if it is your practice to yell all of your words rather speak at a normal volume, you are tacky and rude. 8. Occupancy - the only real issue we noticed was the crowds in the preferred pool. It was not an upgraded experience.
