Secrets Tides Punta Cana All Inclusive - Adults Only

Overall a great experience, this was my second time back. The staff at the pool and restaurants were great!! The food and service while at the resort is some of the best I have had! One thing I did learn on this trip, is you need to book your own shuttle when going from the hotel to the airport. The front desk will tell you its $70, but my taxi ( who is a company no one at the hotel has heard of, Taxi Trinidad) charged me way more. I called the hotel to advise what happened. They responded with we only use amstar and its $70. I said where can I see the pricing. They advised there isn't a way to see the pricing and to call my credit company. Currently I am trying to get my money back from my credit card company, but I was shocked to leave such an amazing trip and then no one care I was overcharged. Hopefully I can help someone from making the same mistake!

We enjoyed our stay and plan to return. As frequent visitors to the DR, we usually choose Excellence hotels (EPC and EEC), but this year, our interest in pickleball led us to Secrets Tides for its dedicated courts. Here are some pros and cons, with some comparison with Excellence hotels. Pros: The resort is newly constructed and equipped with modern amenities such as efficient air conditioning, ceiling fans, double showers, automatic lighting, Airplay, Bluetooth ceiling speakers, … The rooms are also well designed, with very comfortable bedding, representing overall an upgrade compared to Excellence. In our experience, service quality matches that of Excellence, which is commendable. We highly recommend the swim-out rooms; the pool maintains a warm enough temperature and the balcony provides adequate shade (our room was in building 1, facing the main pool, with sun all day until around 3pm). The beach is well-maintained and visually appealing, comparable to EEC but slightly less so than EPC, which we consider the most attractive in the area. The ocean is accessible for swimming even when red flags are present, unlike EPC where swimming is too often restricted. This was a significant advantage for us. Cons: Even though our visit was during early December, usually considered the low season, the resort still felt crowded—perhaps because of how it’s laid out. There aren’t many prime spots on the beach, so you have to arrive early, often before 6:30 am, to secure one. The food quality varied, with some hits and misses. Temperature problems were common; dishes were frequently just lukewarm in both the buffet and à la carte. Something that should be easily adressed. We really enjoyed playing pickleball, but oddly enough, the nets were about two inches higher than standard. Go figure… Although there were a few drawbacks, our time at Secrets Tides was positive enough that we see it as a strong alternative to Excellence hotels.

The resort exceeded expectations in terms of cleanliness, service, and quality. After countless hours of research before deciding on Secrets Tides Punta Cana, my wife and I were beyond ecstatic with our choice to celebrate her 60th birthday and our 29th wedding anniversary. Besides the food being merely good, and not great, and the drive from the airport (45 minutes) being longer than ideal, there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The entire staff went above and beyond during our 5 day/4 night stay. I would highly recommend this location to anyone wanting a first class experience while enjoying some rest and relaxation from the daily grind of life.

We had 10 beautiful days in the Carribean, this year we have chosen the newest Secrets , we go every year in one of the Hyatt Hotels. So this year was Secrets Tides. I want to give a better, structured review of our stay so i will make it with Pro/Cons. PRO: -coco Cafe is awesome, the Team there is really friendly, happy and vibing with clients.Big thanks to Rossana or Roseane, best Choco Milk ( leche chocolatero frio) ever. Open 24/7 , it was a blast -Beach really really clean, they put a lot of efforts in cleaning the beach of seagrass, water cristal blue -Room is beautiful, big,the bed was very comfy - our butler , Maximo, was absolutely a rare pearl, he was reachable for every issue, he arrange for us the minibar delivery every day, he made us surprises and sent us champagne, he went beyond for us. We were grateful for having such a good butler. -the drinks are good , mostly watered but depending of bartender we had as well top cocktails -preffered bar bartenders making really really gut job,drinks fenomenal.big thanks to Jordy und Johnathan ( preffered pool bar) , thanks for the best margarita con chinola -courtesy shower room at checkout was really appreciated -personal is mostly friendly,with some exceptions Cons: -FOOD IS MEDIOCRE or submediocre, that is the first Secrets Resort where we experience biggest lack of quality in food. Buffet comes out as the best option, better than a la Carte( big joke) , service is worst of all together with bad cooked food. In Meraki they bring us false order, we had to wait for circa 1 hour for the order im every restaurant, drinks were often only water and than mobody asked us for anything else, they are lacking personal. The waiting list to get a table was 20 minutes because they did not habe enouh personal( a lot of tables were free). Food quality: worst as in buffet. Looks lile they dont know how to cook a proper meal. We waited hours for our meals and at the end we could not enjoy the food , we end up leaving with hunger. - Buffet was good but no 5 star standards. Please raise the Quality of food and diversity. Also the Pasta Lady was really really NOT suitable for this, She needed repeatly supervison for frying some chicken and mix it some pasta souce( she made only mistakes with orders, she had dificulty with english prders and with spanish- we spoke spanish and still she did false and mix out 2 orders)this every day! -Preffered is not worthing it, maybr only for the drinks ( and wonderful Maximo)but nothing else - cleaning lady coming after 15 or 16 , when we normally come back from beach and lunch(the room still not cleaned) - Minibar refiling was a mistery, somedays no one came and i had to call for water. - good hotel for seniors, average age > 60 year, a lot of pensionist. The good thing is that is quiet. - Andrea the butler really unprofessional and unfriedly, we had a little conversation on the beach and she treated us with her self convincing personality , was almost angry that we said that nowhere is to see a Smoking ist not allowed sign - Shows some kind of boring

Justin who was one of the entertainment group was excellent! Took the best care of us. Very personable! Christian who was our waiter at the pool was amazing. Tended to our every need.

What an excellent resort. The resort is beautiful, extremely clean, superbly maintained, and well operated. When you first enter the resort, the view through the open lobby to the ocean is breathtaking. The palm trees, several large swimming pools, and white sand beaches provide a relaxed and tropical vibe that spells enjoyment, relaxation, and fun. The food quality and service at the various specialty restaurants were top notch. Each restaurant had its own unique ambiance and look, and all were classy. We loved that no reservations were needed and we never had to wait for a table. We liked the entertainment options; there was always something to see and do. The room service and housekeeping were excellent. The turn down service every night, including the chocolates left on the bed and the restocking of the mini-bar, was a great touch. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Overall, we certainly got our money's worth at this resort. We loved it so much that we plan to make this an annual tradition.

We just came back from a couples getaway and had an amazing time at this resort. From the moment we arrived, everything felt luxurious, new and welcoming. We had upgraded to the Preferred club which gave us private transport to the hotel as well as other perks like top shelf liquor, private lounges and a separate pool and beach area as well as a breakfast and lunch restaurant by the water. Check in was easy. We were immediately given a welcome drink off the bus and then brought to the Preferred Lounge where we had more drinks and snacks available while we were checked in. Our butler then met us and gave us a little tour of the resort on our way to the room. Our room was modern and new, everything worked well and was digital, including motion sensor lights in the water closet which was a nice touch. Rooms were cleaned well, stocked well and turndown service done nightly. We spent most of our time between the Preferred pool and the beach which were very close to each other. The Preferred pool bartenders were a great crew, all worked very hard to make sure people were served quickly and there were constant rounds being done on the beach and pool area to take orders. Edward, Jordy and Juan especially stood out but the whole team here was amazing. In the morning for coffee and the evenings for drinks, both Preferred Club lounges were also amazing. Top shelf drink offerings, and the bartenders were excellent mixologists. Felix in the front lobby and Sueheidi (spelling?) and Miguel in the other one were wonderful. The food was very good everywhere. Coffee was nice and strong and house wines were good. We understand the resort is feeding a lot of people so you aren't going to get a gourmet experience but we had no issues with the food. It was nice not to have to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and we never waited to get in. The Dominican buffet by the beach was also very nice on the Thursday night. Now the things that could be improved. Service in all the restaurants was a bit hit or miss but especially in the Oceana for breakfast and lunch. I think we had some sort of issue every meal there but we still went for the beautiful view while eating and the food was good. Examples - one time they only brought one of us our meal and asked the other why they weren't eating even though the same individual had taken both our orders. Other times we would be seated before others who fully finished appetizers and mains before we received our appetizers and had to ask about them. On other occasions, water would go unfilled while servers walked by to fill water at other tables. None of this ruined our trip but the trip would have been near perfect without the issues. Another minor complaint - sparkling wine served at the Preferred Pool bar was always warm in the morning! They need to chill it overnight as this is a popular choice for mimosas or just a first drink of the day. I also don't know why a new resort is still using key cards. It's just something guests have to think about but shouldn't have to. They should upgrade to bracelets and this would also allow easier ability to identify preferred club members. As a preferred club guest, I know for certain non preferred club guests were using preferred areas because they are not really monitored extensively. Someone standing at a podium asking on occasion for a room number as you pass to the pool area is not enough and there was no monitoring of people coming up from the beach. Similarly, no monitoring in the Preferred Club lounges. I was never asked for a room number or any way to identify myself as a Preferred Club member here. Overall, we had a great time at this resort. It had the perfect balance of relaxation and things to do and we would go back.

This was by far the highest level of service and quality we ever experienced! Argeuris handled everything with precision and perfection! The resort is stunning and the service was elite level! I recommend the preferred club experience!

I stayed at Secrets Punta Cana Tides Resort last weekend and the entire experience was phenomenal from start to finish. The resort is gorgeous, the food could use some work (7 out of 10) and everything felt calm and effortlessly relaxing. The real standout, though, was our butler, Wascar. He truly elevated our stay. He paid attention to every little detail, checked in without ever being intrusive and handled every request quickly and thoughtfully. More than once, he went out of his way to make things happen that we didn’t even expect—from small comforts to helpful suggestions that made our trip smoother and more enjoyable. It’s rare to come across someone who treats their role with that level of care and pride. Because of him, our stay felt personalized and genuinely special. We left already talking about coming back—and when we do, we’ll definitely be asking for Wascar again. Also our favorite bartender was Davi(d). He was so much fun and really made the birthday person feel special. Thank you Secrets!
