Found Chicago powered by Sonder

I am covered in bed bug bites and am probably going to have to get ride of all my luggage, clothing, and more. I had life needed medication that needed to be refrigerated and NO ONE could come up with viable solutions - no mini fridge, I’d have to pay to move rooms, go somewhere else. The bedding was so rough and uncomfortable. The heating didn’t work. The bathroom was absolutely freezing. There was light on the AC/Heater that I couldn’t reach or cover and didn’t allow for good sleep and kept me up all night. It also made a sound every few minutes that sounded like a vibrating text message that kept me up. Most of the charging stations in my room didn’t work.

It was really easy to get to and most attractions are near by. The area was pretty safe.

I was in a room directly above the bar downstairs on a Wednesday and Thursday night. Wednesday the noise from the bar wasn't beyond regular street noise, on Thursday I could feel the vibrations until 2am. I imagine it is worse over the weekend but my room did already have a white noise machine in it. But I got the cheapest private room available in proximity to the loop, so I wasn't at all disappointed. The shared kitchen is also a really nice feature. There was often someone hanging out in there but I never saw anyone cook so if you plan on using it you should have no problems. I did take advantage of the luggage room before I checked in, but I would describe that as sketchy. There is a visible camera just outside of the room but none in the room, so as far as I know anyone could go into my bag and take things and as long as they don't take the bag itself there would be no way to know who did it. I was notified each day that the elevator was broken, and at times I saw people use it but I never did because I didn't want to get stuck. The shower was very nice, good flow and a big showerhead high enough that if you're 6ft you won't have to duck. As described they have a Roku TV that you can play your own services on, no cable TV.

The hotel itself was very clean and easy to get into. Biggest complaint was that there was how loud it was, you can hear literally everything. Other people in their rooms, and there was this super loud noise that almost sounded like the elevator going up/down, even though the room wasn’t anywhere near the elevator. There was also this buzzing noise that sounded like your phone was vibrating. These both happened at least once an hour and made it really hard to sleep.

The hotel had a hostel like feel. It was very clean and convenient. I'm not sure what parking they recommended since we just parked in a near by garage through spothero. Everything was great about this place except it could be noisy at times. There was a cute little bar in the lower level and a club around the corner that could get loud at times. There was also a loud creaking sound from a machine that would go off every so often. The tv remote would also just stop working. Overall I thought is was a great place but if you are a light sleeper and need to have all the amenities then this place is probably not for you.

I really love its contemporary stylish design. Love the wall art especially. Communication is smooth even though there is no front desk staff as you can just text or call and you will get a timely response. Location is awesome, 2 minutes walk to Target and it's near many good restaurants and bars. Con: Noise. Safety. It's convenient to use the digital security code for every door but no staff at the property is a big issue. There is a drunk homeless person sleeping right outside of the entrance door with alcohol and leftover food on the floor. The last morning I grabbed breakfast from outside around 9am. I was scared to go back to the hotel as I had to stand at the door and type the code right next to that person. Thankfully some other guests came back too so we came in together.

For the price, location, and ease of checkin, I would recommend Found by Sonder hotel to anyone. Check-in by far was the easiest I’ve ever had (app done through the their site) and I loved how they allowed you to store your bags prior to check-in, so I could explore the city with my carry-on.

The music from the club next door was very loud, and made for a less than restful experience. I had originally visited Found back in 2019, and the coziness of the previous establishment has disappeared. There's no lounge in the basement to watch movies or play games anymore, and the building just looks tired. With a private room about the same cost as a hotel room, I think I'll opt for a true hotel next time.

Is very clean and efficient I would definitely stay there again when I’m in Chicago
