Sonder Market Hall

Perfect for what I needed it for. I stayed almost two weeks. One block from the train to get downtown, and an easy walk up Randolph to all the dining and shops in the West Loop. The place is great, with all appliances, including a clothes washer/dryer combo that makes a longer stay easy. The bed was very comfortable. The place is in great condition and updated. You do hear the L train going by all day and night, but I slept soundly with earplugs (bring some). I would definitely stay there again, and will consider other locations if they are as nice and comfortable as this one.

Nightclub next door - extremely noisy with heavy vibrations, which made it very difficult to sleep

There’s a nightclub in the lobby and the rooms have no noise cancellation meaning you can’t get good rest until 3 AM Rooms and location are both great, would be nice if you’re deaf or have a late night lifestyle

The nightclub on the first floor was so loud it kept us from sleeping and we were on the fourth floor. Not only could you hear it, but you could feel it until two in the morning every night. No soundproofing, no insulation, very disappointed. Other people we met in the elevators had the same experience.Would never stay here again.

Really lovely apartment, well equipped. Big windows overlooking the park. Apartment was larger than I expected, lots of storage space and floor space. Had a fully equipped kitchen (oven, full size fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine. Great supply of crockery and cutlery, pots, pans etc. Very large comfortable bed, lots of extra pillows in storage cupboard. Bathroom was well stocked. Easy access upon check in. The Sonder app is great to use as a mobile key and the app provides basic information on the neighbourhood to help you find your feet. Air conditioning worked well. Apartment is situated on the green and pink lines which will bring you to most of the main tourist attractions and provides easy access also to airport with 1 one train transfer. I felt safe at all times in the apartment.

The OUTRAGEOUS noise from the nightclub downstairs on Saturday night. Do not ignore people’s reviews talking about the music that comes up through the building from the nite club downstairs. Luckily it was only open on one of the nights I stayed (Saturday to Wednesday). The music was BLARING until 5.50 am Sunday morning, despite the clubs opening hours on website suggesting it closes at 3 am. The music reverberated around the whole apartment. There is clearly no sound-proofing between the club and the second floor. If they offer you apartment number 213 and you are staying Saturday night and plan to sleep before 6 am, do not accept this apartment. I emailed Sonder at 5.45 am Sunday morning to advise them the music was still going on and that I had not slept and would like a change of room for any subsequent nights the club was to be open. I was told they would look into it. I heard nothing back again till much later in the afternoon when I sent a follow up email. I was then told i should expect noise from a nite club and to use ear plugs and request a white noise machine. This response was not helpful or acceptable. There is no amount of white noise that would have allowed me to sleep with that noise on Saturday night. It was so loud it would wake the dead. The whole bed was shaking with the vibrations from the beat of the music. I am a very good sleeper and can sleep anywhere on demand. Trust me when I tell you that you will not sleep at all on a Saturday night in this building if the nite club is open. Luckily for me, it only affected me on one of the nights. Some sounds also travel from next floor down and through adjacent apartments, but this didn’t bother me. Footsteps and conversations could be heard through ceiling/walls. If you are used to apartment living this shouldn’t affect your enjoyment of your stay. If it wasn’t for the nightclub this would be the ideal place to stay and i would be giving it a glowing review.
