"Disappointed and Pricey"

4.0

Pros - staff responded by text quickly to questions; cleaning staff is nice Cons - mattresses very soft - led to back pain and sleepless nights; location does not feel safe at night; next to bar so saw drunk people walking out multiple nights; location not ideal or close to the museums or nicer restaurants; bathroom shower area very small while bathroom itself is very large - floors can get wet easily from the shower; sofa bed was tilted making it difficult for children to sleep; pricey - not a great value vs other options in the city; no staff on site - if you need extra towels or pillows or blankets if asked in afternoon or later, you have to wait til the next day to receive; didnt feel kid friendly. May be we just got a bad unit. Just unfortunately very disappointed with this stay.

"Little Itally in your neighborhood."

10.0

Hidden gem in the Little Italy neighborhood, 15 minutes walk from blue line train, through a neighborhood where old blends, artistically, with the new!

"Charming, Comfortable, Clean, Convenient"

10.0

The Neighborhood Hotel ticked all our boxes on our six-night stay. We like to feel part of the community we are visiting and less like a tourist. The hotel did exactly that. It has all the necessities and many amenities. Quiet, clean, and comfortable. Lovely modern decor. Getting around was easy. Bus 12 stop is 2 blocks away (Loomis/Roosevelt) and goes straight to the Loop. Pink line CTA stop is a half mile away. We walked to West Loop and South Loop several times (~2 miles). Walk is pleasant - tree-lined streets and through UIC campus. Neighborhood is very much a college neighborhood, adjacent to UIC. Lots of restaurants although we are most meals outside the neighborhood. We had a great breakfast at Stax and the downstairs bakery has a dangerously delicious selection. Worked out at a lovely, shaded park a block away. The National Public Housing Museum (across the street) is excellent. The guided tour is one of the best multi-media museum experiences I’ve had. We will definitely stay here again.

"We had a wonderful time in Chicago and the Neighborhood Hotel Little Italy was a big reason why."

10.0

The quick/timely response in communicating was excellent, especially since we experienced a lack of communication with the last rental location. We had to find a place to stay quickly and this place was a Godsend! The place made us feel like we were on vacation and not just staying in someone's rented house or apartment. It was really geared towards vacationers. The beds were comfortable and as a history buff and preservation professional, I really enjoyed how the history of the building was integrated into the experience. The location was also perfect. We will be booking at other Neighborhood locations across the state. Please let us know whenever you open a new one!

The only thing I did not like was the floors. I loved that they were natural and concrete, but there were stains (not active stains but left-over) that I did not enjoy looking at or walking on. The space could have been utilized a bit more/too much dead space in the spacious loft apartment. I wish there was a tub instead of a huge walk-in shower. Better instructions for where the trash was. And I would pay extra for a roof-top sitting area/garden where we could pick fresh herbs or lettuce for a salad. All minor things but if I were the realtor, I would add.
