"The best hotel!"

10.0

I’m so happy I found this hotel to stay in. I came to Chicago on a work trip and stayed through the weekend and this location was perfect. I was a 15 min uber to the main downtown area but could also take the metro. Lots of places to eat nearby and cute local coffee shops. A huge plus though was the room. This is easily the best hotel room I’ve stayed in for a great price with a comfy bed, soft sheets, washer, good coffee, and nice bathroom. I can’t recommend this enough, I wish more hotels in the US were like this one!

This property is beautiful and amazing. It truly feels like a modern apartment versus a hotel. Only downside is availability for parking.

"Great location- room for improvement"

6.0

We stayed at the Neighborhood Hotel for 5 nights and overall it was nice, there are definite pros and cons. Pros: Room was very spacious and we loved having a separate bedroom. Kitchen was nice and the coffee was fantastic. The guidebook was super helpful and we didn’t hear any noise from our neighbors. Location is 10/10, Little Italy is very cute and surrounded by great restaurants. Cons: we booked a balcony room but couldn’t really use it because there’s no furniture on it which is so strange. All of the sheets and towels are washed in heavily scented detergent which is terrible for people with eczema and allergies. We had to rewash everything in detergent we bought. The combo washer/dryer malfunctioned and our sheets got stuck in it one night, since the hotel doesn’t have staff on site no one could get them out. They offered to let us grab sheets from another unit, but those would have been washed in smelly detergent also so I slept on the couch. It rained one day and water came in the patio door and up through the floor, we had to use several towels to mop it up. The bathroom has one tiny shelf for storage and that’s it. We had to store all our toiletries on the floor and there’s no storage in the shower either. The shower floor is extremely slippery, our toddler had to wear water shoes in the shower so he wouldn’t fall. We asked for a non-slip mat but no one brought one. Overall it was nice, but be aware it’s more of an Airbnb than a hotel. There a lot of room for improvement for sure.

"Wonderful Digital Staff Well Appointed Rooms"

10.0

We will definitely return! Lovely hotel and great location with a fountain and flowers across the street and many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Comfy beds, well stocked kitchenette with all the little things you hate to buy (olive oil, spices…). There is even a combo washer/dryer. The shower is large with good water pressure and there is a smart TV with many options. The information booklet is the best I have ever seen and recommendations and historical/touring tidbits for Little Italy. The best part, however, is the staff. Even though you don’t see them (except the housekeepers), they are there checking in and responding quickly by text or email. We had an unexpected family health scare, requiring us to relocate, and they graciously granted us a credit for our next stay. The Neighborhood Hotel Little Italy is a class act.

"Amazing stay!"

10.0

I travel extensively for work and typically stay at Hilton or Marriott hotels. However, my recent experience at this hotel was remarkable and surpassed all my expectations. Every aspect, from the plush pillows that cradled my head to the luxurious towels I was especially charmed by the delightful little touches, such as the elegantly presented bottles of olive oil. Every detail contributed to an overall impression of exceptional quality and care, leaving me truly impressed.

"A Hidden Gem That Outshines the Big Chains"

10.0

As a Lifetime Platinum Marriott member—with over a decade at Platinum status, 26+ countries under my belt, and stays at some of the world’s top hotels—I don’t say this lightly: The Neighborhood Hotel Little Italy is one of the best hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. Period. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel like a VIP—welcoming, kind, and genuinely attentive in a way that’s become increasingly rare, even at five-star properties. Their professionalism and warmth set the tone for a truly memorable stay. The room? Spectacular. Every detail was carefully curated to feel both luxurious and incredibly homey. The Moccamaster coffee maker paired with Metric coffee was a dream start to each day, and the upscale bathroom amenities were another standout touch that showed thoughtfulness behind every decision. I honestly can’t believe I’m saying this, but Marriott has lost my Chicago business. This boutique hotel delivers a level of comfort, service, and style that rivals (and in many ways surpasses) the big-name luxury chains. I’ll be back—again and again. If you’re headed to Chicago and want more than just a place to sleep—you want a place to feel at home—do yourself a favor and book The Neighborhood Hotel Little Italy.
