The Neela Boutique Hotel Stone Town

We had a wonderful stay at Neela Hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, and the breakfast was honestly to die for—fresh, beautifully prepared, and something we looked forward to every morning. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The boutique feel of the hotel adds so much charm; it’s warm, intimate, and thoughtfully designed, making it feel more like a home than a hotel. We truly wished we could have stayed longer. Neela is one of those places you don’t just stay at—you experience it. Would happily return in a heartbeat.

We loved everything!

My daughter and I had a memorable time at The Neela Boutique hotel. We are now at a Beach resort in Zanzibar and we wish we had not left the Neela. Such an anti climax! What makes it so special is the warmth and the hospitality of the staff. Friendly and nothing too difficult for them. We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. We arrived at 07am but it was no hassle for them to make a plan and prepare a room for us for early check in. Consistent five star treatment throughout our short two night stay. It is a beautiful and immaculately decorated hotel! A total piece of art in itself! The wall paintings - modern work - pleasing to the eye. Loved the decor pieces, vases and baskets all over the property. The room was perfect, very clean and had everything we needed. The food was delicious and fresh - worth every penny! The boa buns - couldn’t get enough. The Rooftop bar and restaurant is a must! We spent a lovely rainy morning there reading by the couches. The hotel organised a Stonetown walking tour for us with an excellent guide. What was supposed to be a two hour tour ended up being three hours. Honestly, can’t praise the Neela Boutique Hotel enough!

Facility: This was one of the best hotels I’ve booked in Zanzibar. The hotel is located perfectly at the center of Stone Town. Aesthetics of the hotel are breathtaking. I love how they incorporated historic architecture and decor while keeping modern, simple and elegant. Staff: Our highlight at The Neela had to be the warm reception of the staff. They assist us well and catered to our needs. A special appreciation to Sam for the excellent service. Restaurant: 10/10 minis nothing. We absolutely enjoyed the food at the restaurant throughout our stay.

Perfect location with incredibly lovely details in the room. The upstairs art shop was beautifully curated. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The staff were cheerful and helpful.

The hotel is in a good central location, when you arrive you may feel you are in a side street but it is 2 min walk to the beach side and the shops. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and really nice. The staff is superb. We had great breakfast and also had a dinner at the rooftop restaurant, all great quality.

The room and bathroom including toilet are all in one open space, there is a wall to separate but no door that may feel a bit non private
