location was great, staff are super friendly and helpful.

room had a blue tooth speaker, neither of us could connect and no directions for use. Coffee in a chemix is not the best for 2 people, doesn't stay hot, messy etc and no creamer. No iron or steamer in room, had to ask and first steamer didn't work. Bathrooms are really dark for make up application etc.

I wish there was complimentary breakfast. We could not figure out the fireplaces at all. The tv was not easy to navigate either.

The hotel itself it’s not bad. But for the services you receive definitely not worth it. -the pool are it’s depressing, no music, no vibe -no daily room service, unless you stay 3 days plus -the cost per night it’s definitely not worth it -front desk lady wanted to charge me $50 for early check in at 2pm

Even though we booked months in advance, we were given a room with a view on the parking and next to the public toilets so very noisy. When we arrived at the hotel and asked the person at the reception if he could help with luggage, he declined saying that the hotel was not offering such services while he was eating his noodle dish. This is supposed to be a “5” stars hotel, at least they have 5 stars’ prices (around 700usd / night), it does not offer any services, the receptionists are not familiar with the region so do not count on any advice on what to do… They have bicycles but no kids’ size so not family friendly at all.

I’m embarrassed I book this hotel because of the soaking tub and how it was not a typical apartment style hotel room. I was looking for quiet, pet friendly and clean place for our family of 4 plus dog. This hotel met and exceeded all of our expectations- really fell in love with this place and didn’t want to return home. The outside dining and soaking tub were very much enjoyed by our family. Staff was attentive and the I will most definitely return!

I spent three nights here while my partner was attending a work event in Lake Tahoe, and I can't imagine there's a better place in the area to stay. The townhouse felt like home away from home, with a kitchenette, a living room area, a huge deck, and a separate bedroom on a different floor. Family members in Reno came up to hang out while we were there and it was easy to host them downstairs without having to sit on the bed and clean up all our suitcases like we would in a normal hotel room. Beyond the setup, the design and furniture they chose are great. The bed is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, the enormous tub was great for reading and relaxing, and the whole place has a cozy Nordic vibe. Little touches like a Chemex and ground coffee being available in the morning added to the luxury feel. Apart from the room, the hotel itself was an excellent place to stay. Wifi was great, I was working during the day and had no trouble uploading documents and taking video calls. The food at the restaurant was delicious and I loved the cocktails named after the staff's pets! When work was done, it's a quick walk down to the beach (with access to a private shared beach area!), no need to fight over parking. Staff was responsive and easily available. And it's close to lots of restaurants, a brewery, equipment rentals, etc. I try to be fair and state all the cons of any place I stay as well as the pros; the most I can come up with is that the motion sensor lights in the bathroom can be a bit bright if you get up in the middle of the night. That's it, that's the only thing I can think of that wasn't perfect. Desolation was a fantastic place and I highly recommend it.
