Desolation Hotel Hope Valley

Good location twenty minutes from either South Lake Tahoe or Kirkwood, very comfortable and spacious cabins

We stayed at Hope Valley, beautiful Knotty Pine cabin with family of 4 over the New Year holiday. We all used the bunk beds which were perfect for us. Kitchen had just enough for us to stay in and cook. Sauna was a bonus. Dog friendly and convenient to Kirkwood.

Amazing amenities, great service and softest bed! Once I posted my pics online, my friends from all over were asking where this was! Couldn't have been happier with my stay. A perfect night under the stars in a yurt, serenity at its finest.

It was amazing 9/10! We enjoyed sauna and new restaurant patio the most, it was a great experience! Snowshoeing around the hotel was also very fun. Last year we stayed every room had a body lotion which smelled really good. This time there was only a body cream which smells awful. Also if there was a map of trails around the hotel to help navigate for snowshoeing that would be amazing. Overall it was a great experience and we would love to come back next year again!

Desolation is such a great spot! Phenomenal getaway and experience, my wife and I were lucky enough to spend Christmas in the St. Nick’s cabin which is very cozy and peaceful. All the employees are so nice and helpful, food and drinks are incredible, and with all the snow the property it was well kept and maintained. Would definitely recommend and plan on coming back sometime in the future!
