Fantastic hotel with outrageous good service!

A little over priced but friendly people

A little late with this review, but this hotel is simply too amazing not to write about. Building: A stunning blend of classic Arabic elegance and modern chic defines the opulence of this hotel. While it’s part of the Mandarin Oriental family, it almost has a boutique vibe, which only adds to its charm. Every corner of the property is spotless, polished, and immaculately maintained. Rooms: Beautifully decorated and tastefully appointed — honestly, there’s not much more to say. They are faultless. Pool: The pool layout exudes relaxation and serenity. It’s spacious and thoughtfully designed, located right next to the pristine white sandy beach and complete with its own loungers. An ideal spot to unwind. Restaurant & Breakfast: A wide and generous selection is on offer — from local to Asian to continental dishes. What stood out most was the personal touch: staff members, both junior and senior, warmly greet you at breakfast and invite you to try off-menu items. That kind of attentiveness is rare and deeply appreciated. Staff: It has to be said — and perhaps controversially — that many 4- and 5-star hotels could benefit from sending their teams here to observe what world-class service truly looks like. Mandarin Oriental, Muscat, delivers the most impeccable service we’ve experienced out of the hundreds of hotels we’ve stayed at. From the servers to reception, concierge to valet, lifeguards to housekeeping — every staff member we encountered embodied excellence. Even senior managers take the time to casually chat with guests. A heartwarming touch: on our last day, one of the pool staff gave my son a handwritten farewell note. That level of sincerity and care is a rare gem. Overall: This hotel is easily among the best we’ve ever stayed at. Our 3-night visit was nothing short of perfect — and we will most definitely be back

From the moment I contacted Khaled for the booking, everything was smooth, professional, and handled with care. Upon arrival, the concierge team welcomed us warmly, and the butler guided us to the room, explaining everything in detail. The room was spotless and beautifully arranged. The pool experience stood out—friendly staff immediately set up our sunbeds, offered chilled water and welcome drinks, and ensured we were comfortable throughout. What really impressed me is that, unlike many other luxury hotels in Oman that carry international names but don’t live up to their global standards locally, Mandarin Oriental truly delivers. I’ve stayed in several well-known luxury brands in Oman, and most of them fall short compared to their international branches. Mandarin Oriental is the only brand that truly maintains its global standard here—you feel the same quality, elegance, and attention to detail you’d find at any of their properties worldwide. Where can we start. Absolutely fabulous for starters!!! Beautiful hotel with good location. We had a wonderful Sea view Junior Suite to reside in for 9 nights but what truly made our stay the best ever in a Mandarin Oriental were the exemplarily staff team. There was not one member of staff who didn’t make you feel so special and deliver the best service in whatever their role was. So much so I am going to name everyone that MADE our holiday. Sarah, Thamrongsak, Stanley and Shehani who welcomed us with a smile each morning at breakfast and catered to our every need, in a way we have never experienced and we have experienced fabulous staff and service in the past, as we do like to stay in very nice 5 star hotels but this was another higher level of hospitality. Godfrey for making wonderful coffee & Matcha each morning a true barista! Mina so friendly and professional, Maryam and Alina. Pijush who made some fab cocktails for myself, and I am very fussy when it comes to a cocktail but Pijush is a guy who knows what he is doing, again so friendly and professional. Talia and Inci also in the bar. Always delivered our drinks with a smile. Humfrey and Sanjeev. Maryam & Alina. Sarina who did such an amazing job with servicing our room, never a thing out of place. Also, one day when I returned to my room a book mark had been placed at the front of my book. How thoughtful!!! Sadaa on front desk Can Demir Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, all absolute DIAMONDS and finally the JEWAL IN THE CROWN Felix the Director of Food & Beverage, this is a man that is to credit for putting together such a fabulous and outstanding service team. Obviously all the staff deserve the credit for what they do but Felix gave them the opportunity, as he believed they were the best people for the job and he got it spot on. Such a friendly person too, although I am sure busy, always had time to engage in conversation with us. We have stayed in other Mandarin Orientals in the Middle East and although very nice the one in Oman is our absolute favourite for all the above reasons. Oman is a wonderful place to visit for many reasons and if it is somewhere you are thinking of visiting please stay at the Mandarin Oriental, I am sure you won’t be disappointed😊.

Unfortunately the stay did not live up to our expectations. The hotel is very, very beautiful. The rooms are gorgeous. But the hotel is in an area where there is a mosque speaker, so we had a not very nice wake up call at 3.50 in the morning. I can not believe the hotel does not notice people about this. Because it is so disturbing. The hotel was not close to half full, so when they are aware of this, I would without a blink, move all guest to the sea side of the hotel. I even communicated with the hotel before booking and no one even suggested us booking sea view. However we got moved to a sea view and a bit more quiet room for the last days. Another unfortunate thing was the communication regarding their restaurants and menu. I would expect more options for dining in a hotel like this, but there was only an evening buffet on the day we arrived and otherwise an Italian restaurant. The buffet offered a seafood night and we tried multiple time to get an answer if there would be anything else then seafood. A lady from reception got very annoyed with us because we would like to know that as she clearly couldn’t provide an answer to that, and that is just surprising considering this is a mandarin oriental hotel. Again, however, a manager managed to tell us and from that point on, we received excellent service from the staff. The staff is definitely the hotels highlight. They really tried to do everything they could to make our stay great, with what they had.

I recently stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Muscat and it was an unforgettable experience. Every detail was impeccable, but what truly made my holiday special was the outstanding service from the team. Maryam and Sarah Jane made every breakfast a delight with their warmth and attention to detail. By the pool, Humprey went above and beyond to ensure we were always comfortable and well looked after. A special mention to Madai at Essenza restaurant, who made our dining experience truly memorable with exceptional recommendations and genuine hospitality

I went with my wife to experience Mandarin for the first time in Oman It turns out excellent With the savory kebab and salad recommendations along with a perfect pairing of wine Which made us place another takeaway order for our daughter Eventually, the service was phenomenal bingo to Mr.Orman in Rawya who looked after us well he got what it takes to pave the conversation to a brighter side From what I've experienced here in the country, the restaurant highly recommended they got a pro-service I will see you again.

The Mandarin Oriental Muscat is a beautiful new hotel with plenty of amenities and stunning views of the sea. The hotel is located right on the beach and features a lovely pool area which is a perfect way to spend a hot afternoon in Muscat. The location is very convenient and within a quiet, safe and very clean area of Muscat and within easy reach of all the city’s attractions. The rooms were tastefully decorated to a very high standard, and the housekeeping team kept them sparkling and wonderfully clean. Rooms were decorated with tasteful art and exhibited a sleek, luxurious style with a wonderful traditional flair. The beds were the largest of any hotel I have ever stayed in and incredibly comfortable! The accents and details in our rooms really added to the experience and made our stay even more enjoyable. We made great use of our balconies which are a lovely space to enjoy a meal after a busy day of sightseeing. We made good use of the pool area which was staffed by a friendly and attentive team who always made sure we had everything we needed. The pool was scrupulously clean and had ample loungers to use - a great way to cool off in the boiling hot sun! There were plentiful food and drink options for delicious poolside dining. Easy gated access to the beach made for some stunning beach walks. The MO Muscat has a variety of food and drink venues which we enjoyed throughout our stay. The impressive atrium was the perfect place to enjoy a coffee or delicious cake. All the food was to a very high standard and the restaurant and room service options were nicely varied. The traditional Omani options were our personal favourites - make sure to give them a try! The absolute highlight of this stay was definitely the attentive, friendly and incredibly helpful staff! Everyone from the front desk agents, to coffee shop workers, to the club team could not have been more helpful. Everyday someone checked in on us and asked if there was anything they could do for us and asked how we had enjoyed our activities. It was lovely to meet Sheryl, the Guest Relations Manager, who regularly assisted and checked in on us. The team exceeded our expectations every day! I have to give particular mention to the Three 58 club staff - Fernando, Bala and Krish - who provided us with amazing service, food and drinks. We particularly enjoyed the various juices and coffees on offer! The Two Three 58 Club was a fantastic place to enjoy breakfast, cocktails and delicious canapés if you are booked in a club room/suite. Make sure to visit during sunset - the views are amazing! The menu made use of luxurious ingredients such as caviar and wagyu beef which was very generous for being included in your club room rate. Overall, the MO Muscat is really the full package of excellent service, exquisite decor and plenty of amenities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - everything was simply top-notch. Don’t hesitate to book this hotel, you’ll love every moment!

My stay at the Mandarin was lovely, all the staff were amazing and welcoming especially Maryam from the Rawayah restaurant. The food from all the restaurants were spectacular and the beach was so nice and calm. Everything was very clean and the rooms were very spacious. I can't wait to go back one day. Thankyou I'm a very happy customer 😄😄
