Mandarin Oriental, Muscat

From the moment we arrived at the Mandarin Oriental, Muscat, we knew we were in for something truly special. Set against the backdrop of the majestic Al Hajar Mountains and the glistening Gulf of Oman, this property is the perfect blend of refined luxury and authentic Omani charm. The resort offers an incredible sense of tranquility while being perfectly situated to explore Muscat’s cultural gems. Whether relaxing by the pool, unwinding in the spa, or simply taking in the atmosphere, every moment felt indulgent and unforgettable.

Vi har netop haft et vidunderligt ophold på Mandarin Oriental Muscat i hele 6 dage, og det overgik virkelig alle vores forventninger. Servicen var helt i top, og personalet var utrolig servicemindede og imødekommende - vi følte os virkelig velkomne hele vejen igennem vores ophold. Vi nød den lækre morgenmad i TwoThree58 Club, hvor der var et imponerende udvalg af retter. Om aftenen havde vi også fornøjelsen af at smage deres cocktails og canapéer, som var en skøn måde at afslutte dagen på. Hotellets pool og strandområde var absolut fantastiske. Selvom stranden var offentlig, blev vi stadig serviceret af hotellets venlige personale, hvilket gjorde vores oplevelse endnu bedre. Alt i alt var vores ophold en uforglemmelig oplevelse, og vi ser allerede frem til at besøge Mandarin Oriental Muscat igen.

We had the most fabulous stay at the MO in March. We were warmly greeted by the reception staff with a welcome drink and were able to check in early. The hotel has a really relaxed vibe. The suit was outstanding. The view was looking over the mountains and all the white residences nestled all around. I loved the view. The suit itself was so beautiful and spacious. A very large bed bed with very good quality sheets. The fresh fruit and chocolates were a welcome surprise. We visited the club lounge every day either for breakfast, afternoon refreshments or pre evening drinks and Canapés which were delicious. The team were always so friendly - Fernando Krish Masha and Bala always so polite and interacted with us without being in a hurry. We dined in the restaurant several evenings and enjoyed the Iftar meals which were always varied plentiful and fresh. All of the staff were outstanding friendly and attentive. We also dined in the Italian restaurant Essenza and enjoyed the Iftar menu and the al a carte. The food was of a high standard and we loved the enthusiasm of the staff in describing the menu! Thanks to Clement Manuel and Talia for their attentiveness and they always made our visits a pleasure. A big thank you to the poolside staff who alway prepared our sun beds and brought our drinks Humfrey and Hilton especially for always greeting us with a smile. I would also like to thank the housekeeping team who were always discreet. Our room was alway cleaned in a timely manner and to a high standard. We had everything we needed in our room. A coffee machine, kettle, tea and coffee, fruit, shampoo, conditioner body lotion, toothbrush, bath salts. Slippers. Robes. Hairdryer and clothes steamer. The bathroom area was spacious with a bath and the shower was powerful and worked perfectly every time. Plenty of hanging space. The hotel has been fitted to the highest standard with beautiful art work throughout. The staff are an asset to the hotel. Everyone had time to talk and this made us feel very at home. It was refreshing to meet the hotel management who were always visible and engaging with the residents. We loved everything about the hotel. Our first time with Mandarin Oriental. It won’t be our last. We will certainly be returning to MO Muscat.

My wife and I returned for a second visit to MO Muscat. We had always planned to return once the club lounge had opened and it certainly did not disappoint. We had booked to stay for 5 nights, but ended up extending our stay to 8 nights after enjoying our stay so much. The lounge has an extensive outdoor terrace overlooking the sea and is perfect to watch the sunset. Plenty of sofas and comfortable relaxed seating meant it never felt overcrowded. Breakfast was a buffet as well as an extensive a la carte, which the chefs were more than happy to adapt if you wished. Afternoon delights were a selection of cheeses with 3-4 cake options and some iced tea and mocktails. Evening canapés were a selection of 4 exquisitely flavoured bites from the lounges chef team which changed daily and you could have seconds of what you enjoyed the most. As the lounge didn’t serve dinner as such, you were more than welcome to order food from the Italian restaurant, Essenza, or from in room dining to eat in the lounge between 5 and 7pm which the team were happy to organise on our behalf. During this time you were also able to get alcoholic beverages. But what really made the lounge worth staying for, for us, was the team. Fernando, Masha, Bala and Krish couldn’t have done any more to make our stay more enjoyable. They are a credit to the hotel with their excellent customer service and friendliness daily, then going above and beyond on our final evening to make it memorable with tailor made cocktails from flavours we had enjoyed and also a handmade cake and handwritten card. The rest of the hotel was just as we remembered it, just the perfect blend of relaxed ambience with the little luxuries like chocolates and dates in the room. Lastly, we would also like to thank the pool team who also made our stay perfect. From Humpry and Hilton looking after our needs and the lifeguarding team setting up our cabana every morning for our arrival. An excellent hotel with amazing staff, we will be returning for a third time in the near future.

Good all around, we enjoyed our two day stay, with the staff being helpful and friendly. The Italian restaurant was good and the tiramisu was delicious so we had a second one! Some of the staff however could do with a little more training and explain a few things more clearly. The premises, being new, were in very good order.

Gorgeous hotel, beachfront, lovely amenities, food was bus, could’ve spent the whole time at the hotel but the concierge gave us local recommendations to explore and filled an itinerary for check out to departure.

The worst experience ever.. super racist although we are in GCC .. The manger was rude and didn’t handle my complaint professionally !! NO privacy !! One of the staff entered my room while i wass in side it !!! I canceled my stay for 5 days …………..

The design of the hotel and restaurant is absolutely stunning, but unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the Italian cuisine. It was a total letdown. Every dish I tried was overly salted, and nothing stood out. They even turned the tiramisu into some sort of bizarre performance. The portions were tiny, and overall, it was just disappointing. Doesn’t seem I will go back. Each dish was different, but none of them were memorable.

One of the best properties I have stayed at, so relaxing with very helpful and friendly staff. Concierge booked our restaurants with ease. Nice breakfast, good restaurant options. Lovely amouage store on site if you like exclusive perfumes.
