Dornoch Station

Alt var perfekt! Rommene er helt nydelige, det samme er resten av hotellet. Det er der flotteste rommet jeg noensinne har hatt. Staben er utrolig hjelpsomme, imøtekommende og blide. Maten var meget god. Alt var rent, overalt. Den lille byen Dornoch er sjarmerende og søt. Nydelig gåtur ut til den flotte stranden. Vi håper vi er så heldige å få komme tilbake i fremtiden.

The Snooker table.

The cues for the snooker table, had pool tips fitted. A very cheap solution. Also having stayed at marine Troon and St Andrews Rusacks, when taken to the table for breakfast the staff ask if you wish tea or coffee and toast. Not at Dornoch, Tea of Coffee but not toast. Both days we had to ask two different staff for toast, sad lacked class and common sense.

The hotel is beautiful and every detail has been considered. It was completely renovated in 2022, but you feel like you are stepping into 1900. Very luxurious all around, nice seating areas including by a fireplace. Snooker table in a room with patterned carpet and deer antlers on the wall, really cool. Dinner was good, as was breakfast. The royal golf course is right outside, as well as the beach.

Loved the decor, the real fire, the many options to cosy down inside or out with a book, the chilled iced tea, the bar area, the billiards table etc

The only thing spoiling our stay was dinner. The restaurant was closed so dinner was in the bar. Our venison main was lukewarm and the young American waiter was not apologetic but rather arrogant and told us there was no more venison so having chosen a decent bottle of red for our main we chose steaks which were well cooked ( medium rare) and flavoursome The menu is American themed - steak, burgers and the like so rather limited which can be a good thing but not when meat dishes are burgers or steak sandwiches and the live, Gabrielle at reception is superb - a treasure and knows his stuff - a pleasure to relate to .

Treated my mum to an absolutely fabulous Mother’s Day lunch. Absolutely stunning meal and also a free glass of champagne for the special lady too! Food and service was absolutely top class. Thank you to all the team at Dornoch Station who could not have been more helpful and attentive.

Love this hotel. Staff are very nice and restaurant serves great food.

When I booked this visit it said free upgrade, so I thought,'yeh great'. Have stayed here a couple of times and always good-sized room, so I was a bit shocked after getting upgrade, which I hadn't asked for, we ended up with a very small room....def not the room on the picture. But everything else was great with stay....just wouldn't take the free upgrade next time if we got offered it again.
