if you want to have a truly authentic experience of Kawaguchiko, you have to stay here. The staff is incredible, and are locals to the area. The location of the inn is outside of the general tourist area, so you really get a great selection of the real local experience (food, vibe, etc). Everybody was so kind during my stay, and I definitely plan on visiting again!

Our stay at Furusato was truly unforgettable. As always in our travels around the world, we seek to dive deep into the heart of the local culture, and staying here turned out to be an extraordinary experience. Furusato is a beautiful traditional house, lovingly run by two young brothers, Tsubasa and Juan, who are carrying forward the legacy of their grandparents — opening their doors and hearts to travelers from around the world, sharing that unique warmth and hospitality that defines Japan so well. The natural setting is simply magical, the location is ideal, the facilities are spotless and fully equipped, and they provide all the guidance you could wish for to explore the area. We were incredibly fortunate to meet their wonderful family, to share long conversations, and to exchange thoughts and dreams about life and the world. We are deeply touched and grateful for their generosity in opening their hearts to us, for introducing us to their rich culinary traditions, and for showing us the strength and unity of their family. We sincerely hope time continues to inspire them to share the authenticity and vibrant spirit of their land — the very spirit that captures the hearts of all who come to discover Japan. We had an exceptional stay here, arguably one of our best ever. Tsubasa and his family went well above and beyond to provide comfort, cleanliness and professionalism. They were extremely helpful and friendly, we are so thankful for everything they did for us. As for the accommodation, it exceeded our expectations and kept the traditional feel of a Japanese home. We had a wonderful stay with Tsubasa and Juan! They we were warm and very generous hosts. It's a traditional ryokan style property - basic facilities but perfect for what we needed. We even had a view of Mt Fuji to wake up to every morning! Highly recommend if you are coming to the area.

We had an amazing time during our 2-night stay at Furusato Guesthouse in Kawaguchiko. The guesthouse is run by two incredibly kind and welcoming brothers, Tsubasa and Juan, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They were always helpful, accommodating, and genuinely caring. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable—some rooms even have breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, which made our stay even more special. The location is perfect: just outside of the main town, so it’s peaceful, yet still within walking distance to everything you need. There’s a 7-Eleven just a 5-minute walk away, the lake is a 10-minute stroll (or 3 minutes by bike), and the bus stop is conveniently right in front of the guesthouse. They also offer bike rentals at a great price, which is a fantastic way to explore the area. I absolutely recommend Furusato Guesthouse to anyone visiting the area. It was a wonderful experience.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Showed us everything in the inn and shared its history as well. They provided cheap and easy bike rentals that allowed us to get the full Lake Kawaguchi experience.

The host was so precious and accommodating. He had a lot of really good recommendations and tips, and was always a pleasure to talk to. We were nothing but pleasantly surprised by the whole experience!
