ふる里 Mt Fuji Inn Furusato

Where to start! The Ryokan is at an amazing place. The Ryokan itself is traditionally built, with small 2/3 person rooms or bigger family rooms. The futons were amazingly cozy! They also provide heaters in each room, which meant that even at -4, it wasn't cold at all in the room or futon. Moreover, it's close to the park , which has a great view of Fuji. Also close to a small restaurant with the best katsudon we've ever had. The owners, Juan and Tsubasa were incredible. They offered to help us with the bus and train, the little bit extra. We were here for our Honeymoon and they helped us fulfill one of our dreams. We connected with them through the hobbies we share. It was also very nice to hear about the history of the Ryokan, and how it is a family business. For an authentic Japanese experience, we highly recommend also for the incredible owners. The owner was so nice! And the house had a lot of charm. I was a great experience to stay in a tatami room. I would definitely come back. I made use of the bike rental, which was super easy to organise and the bike itself was in good condition.

It took about 30min from the train station to walk there, but you can look at mt fuji between the buildings so it's nice. The accommodation, being a traditional, old building, also had an old bathroom. The facility itself was totally fine but it was really cold in the shower and at the vanity. The room itself was also cold but the owner had turned on the heating before I came so that was no problem.

We stayed for 2 nights at Furusato and really enjoyed our stay. It was a unique and interesting experience to stay in a traditional Japanese house. The whole house is very clean and our room was very comfortable to stay in. There are heaters in the room so we were nice and warm (our stay was in February) and the futons were really comfortable. The owners Tsubasa and Juan were very friendly and helpful. They picked us up from the bus station and helped us plan the best way to get to Kyoto upon our departure. We rented bikes from the hotel and spent the day biking around the lake and it was beautiful! It is a really gorgeous area and the views of Mt. Fuji are unbelievable! The hotel is located in a quieter part of town and it was very peaceful. There are several delicious restaurants just a short walk away and also a 7-Eleven (open 24 hrs) only a 5 min walk away, which is great to pick up snacks and drinks to take back. We loved our stay and hope to be back one day. Thanks for the great memories!

Thank you so much to Juan and his family for such a lovely welcome into your traditional Japanese home. We had a magical time while staying here getting to experience sleeping on the authentic futon beds. The futons were very cosy and comfortable. We loved listening about the history and story of your home. Juan helped us from the moment we arrived right up until the moment we left offering transport to and from the train station. We rented bicycles for very cheap and cycled around the lake. Waking up to the view of Mt Fuji from the window is something we will not forget!

Best Ryokan, traditional accomodation

The location and staff were excellent. I arrived a couple hours after I was supposed to check in and I was given a warm welcome by the owners.

It was the most authentic stay we had in all of Japan. Getting to meet the family owned facility, the history behind it and it really felt like a home away from home.

The newly opened. The bathroom is basic and the beds are authentically mats. But it’s exactly as described.

The host was super friendly, picked us up when we arrived and dropped us off at the bus station when we left.
