"Will be booking again"

10.0

We booked this as a surprise for my 7 year old daughter who loves horses and it was amazing she loved every minute of our 2 night stay. We had a 2 year old horse called Billy who was in the stable next to us. His owner Pippa made my daughter’s experience even more amazing letting her help groom and spend time with Billy. The people who keep their horses at the yard were very welcoming and friendly and it was a great experience a lady called Tracey who had 2 horses there was also amazing with my daughter. It was very close to the town we ate there both nights. There is a small kitchen so we had breakfast and lunch at the apartment. The shower was really good. Just a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to go back.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable

"Quirky room with great bathroom near Exeter"

10.0

Great apartment in a livery stables with a friendly, entertaining ‘neigh’bour. Beautiful location and a very helpful team. Clean and spacious room that was well equipped for a weekend base - we were out and about for most of the time. Great bathroom. Only request would be for some outdoor space/seating but the farm and fields are all around.

Very quiet. Lots of animals to meet. Host was very friendly. Clean & comfortable.

No oven. Just a microwave. A bit difficult to find initially.

Really unique stay and loved the connection with the horses. Flat was self-contained and had all amenities I'd expect in a lovely location.

I'd booked this stay mostly for the remote location and anticipated quiet as I had an important work event with an early start the next morning. Unfortunately the timing wasn't great for me as there was a family special occasion taking place in the home upstairs and I ended up leaving the stay without staying and booking in to alternative accommodation to get the quiet I needed. I don't doubt this would have been a lovely stay had I booked a different night and I think it would generally be quiet. Communication with the host about this was mixed as I didn't feel comfortable interrupting a family event on the night and so only spoke to the host about this after leaving. Perhaps I should have knocked on the evening as the host did ask that I had done this and said the noise did stop relatively early but this was after I'd left.

Pet friendly, and the host allowed us to check out later than advertised.

We specifically booked "Sleep next to a Horse in a stable by the city", for the novelty of sleeping next to a horse. However the stable was empty for the whole duration of our stay and there was no horse :( It was more "Don't Sleep next to a Horse in a stable by the city" than it was "Sleep next to a Horse in a stable by the city"...
