The Funny Lion - El Nido

The hotel is just at the end of El Nido's busy main street very busy, so is very well positioned for all the restaurants, bars, etc. We had the usual smiley, friendly service as we arrived and checked in. This friendly service continued throughout our stay. The breakfast buffet had a good choice of options, but we didn't try the lunch or dinner. Overall it's a very nice hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are just a bit small and noisy and so not dark at night.

Our room was on the 2nd floor on the roadside and the traffic noise was quite loud (there were earplugs in the room). The other side of the room, full ceiling to floor windows, faced the other wing of the hotel, which was quite close, so we all looked into each other's rooms. The room was fine, but quite compact, with almost nowhere to put our clothes and a tiny hanging space. All very clean and tidy but small. The aircon was incredibly noisy. There were also so many night lights and other lights (such as coming from behind the TV), that you couldn't turn off, it was impossible to get the room at all dark. Very annoying.

Stylish, comfortable and excellent service. Top choice hotel for El Nido. Perhaps THE place to stay in El Nido. We LOVED the access to Papaya Beach. It is well worth a visit and sheltered from the hub hub of mass tourism on other beaches.
