No15 Castle View

The location was very good, it was easy to get the keys and the communication of what to do was very good. The refreshments were a nice touch. Overall, the time we had was lovely, the property is quite dated and does need a little work doing to it but it met our needs during our stay.

The smell in the bathroom was quite strong but I do understand that it must be hard with the drains being that high up. There was no fruit left in the fruit bowl which was a shame as this was specified in the confirmation email that there would be.

Room was fab, modern and clean

Need to tell guests about the room being on the top floor. 3 floors walk up spiral stairs

Værelserne er ikke lydtætte som beskrevet! Der var ikke castle view fra værelset, det havde vi forventet. Lidt besværligt at man selv skal sætte varmen til. Vi kunne heller ikke åbne vinduet, hvilket ikke var så rart, da man ikke kunne lufte ud.

Perfect location, right underneath the castle. Easy walk down the hill to get into central Edinburgh.

Up 4 flights of very steep stairs. Not great if you find stairs tricky.

It was unclean. There was a can of white wall paint in my room. The fridge and machines in my room had dirt, possibly black mould. I didn't take a shower as the bathroom had a foisty aroma. The "kitchen" had unclean utensils which i assume were "washed" by other residents. It felt unsafe as a loan female traveller. I didn't realise it wasn't a b&b! It was a shared flat, no staff, surrounded by strangers. I didn't sleep all night. I'm also pretty sure i had a reaction to something on the pillows. I am not allergic to anything and have lovely skin but had to be treated for a dermititus rash which spread the day to a week after though i csn't definitively prove it. I wouldn't recommend.
