GBThe kettle and the fridge worked. The sheets and towels were clean. When we had no hot water the owner turned up promptly to sort it out.
The instructions from the host were clear unfortunately the wording and numbers on the entry system were almost invisible and very, very, hard to read. It would have been nice in the description that to reach the apartment dark narrow stairs had to be negotiated first. Being unfamiliar with Newcastle we didn't realise that the apartment was likely to be affected with partygoers every evening til 3 am followed by the street cleaners the night time noise was incessant. There were no plugs in the basin (which was cracked) or the kitchen sink. the sofa had a broken arm and one of the single beds was broken. One of the showers heads was inoperable and no lock on the bathroom door. The carpets were old, rucked in places and dirty. When I contacted the owner regarding the oven not working I had to look for the switches myself as there were no instructions at all which made operating the heating efficiently impossible. It was obvious that previous renters had used the work top to open bottles judging by the gouges.
GBLocation was spot on, ideal for groups that are wanting to enjoy a good weekend away in the centre as it’s a 5 minute walk from the train station. Tony was exceptional when we had a problem with locks he was quick to answer and got it sorted.
