"Charming Cottage"

9.0

A charming, comfortable, and cosy cottage with an extremely well equipped kitchen. Lovely bedrooms with comfy beds. Lunch at the nearby Barley Mow pub was excellent.

There is very limited parking in the village. However, a parking permit for one vehicle was provided and appreciated.

"Beautiful time capsule of a cottage"

Like a taking several steps back in time (with Netflix and Wifi), down to the tiny street of cottages with a river at the end! Wood burner with plenty material to run when wanted, highly appreciated provisions for our arrival, beautifully kept and furnished. Remember to use What3Words if you order any food deliveries, it helps!

Honestly nothing comes to mind that should be concern. Kitchen could have done with a better wipe over but that didn't take away from the experience.

"Beautiful house"

House was absolutely beautiful, very comfortable and well equipped. We went with our dogs to get away from the fireworks and it was perfect! Location was amazing, didn't need to use the car all weekend.

"Exceptional"

I really want to keep this place secret !!!! The cottage is literally a home from home . Warm , cosy, clean, beds are amazing and plenty of room for 4 grown adults . The location is excellent with a pub next door and another 2 minutes walk away. Communication with the host was brilliant. Can't wait to go back I miss it already 😢

"Ten out of ten for comfort and charm"

After reading other people’s rave reviews, we had high expectations - and this place did not disappoint! Simon had thought of everything - and more - to make our stay comfortable. The cottage is not only atmospheric and charming but also fantastically equipped. Two air fryers for starters! Barley was an excellent location, with two great pubs, and we found lots to do within a short drive or walk. There’s easy access to the Yorkshire Dales too. We didn’t encounter any problems parking close to the cottage - thanks to the pass Simon provided. All in all, the place is a delight - easily the best cottage we’ve ever stayed in and at a very reasonable price.
