The location

Lodge was filthy, dirty toilets and all floors, dirty cutlery, bin hadn’t even been emptied, crumbs all over sofas, stained sofa blankets, one of bedrooms had dirty sheets! Grounds of property all unkept and in badly need of mowed. Won’t be back starting to look run down and unkept

The location is excellent - right next to the visitor centre, Conic Hill, the Oak Tree pub and restaurant - really good location. There were some basic provisions; tea, coffee, dish soap, which was good. Also the host was very responsive to my request to add another guest and an earlier entry time.

It's really not clean at all. I had to wash a couple of the pots before I could use them, as they still had some food stuck to them. All of the pots have the non-stick coating mostly scratched. The "glassware" is all plastic (probably because people would take them out to the hot tub - which we didn't use as it didn't look very clean either), and as such are all scratched and not nice to use at all. The dishwasher doesn't work, so I had to re-wash by hand all the dishes I had put in the dishwasher. There were lots of little tufts of hair (possibly dog?) on the upstairs carpet. The bathroom floor had dead insects and dander behind the sink, and lots of dust on the pipes. The sinks and taps didn't look particularly clean either. The bunk beds have very cheap mattresses and one of the double beds (the dark blue room) was very, very soft - I felt like I was sleeping on an incline. All in all, the place is very tired and needs a really good clean, the beds upgraded and decor refreshed. I'm sorry, but it was definitely not worth the money and I'm glad we only stayed for one night.

Great location. Hot tub a bonus. Clean.

Lodges close together - we are all teachers and unfortunately we could see one of our pupils in their hot tub - we hid! Very warm -heating on all the time possibly. Bunk bed room could hear hot tub noises all night.

Clean, big and had everything we needed.
