Tollgate House - Luxury Cozy Cottage - HUGE Hot Tub - Alton Towers

The property was very dirty, and because it is located right on the road, the noise level was excessive. Another issue was the checkout process. Once it reached 10:00 a.m. on checkout day, the cleaners would enter the property using their own keys, even if guests were still inside. This felt very intrusive, as guests could still be getting dressed, showering, or simply preparing to leave.

The hot tube was nice and hot.

The house actually on the main road which it’s not mentioned on the description. It was very loud and won’t be able to sleep as no blinds on the windows. Also, in the garden could not have a proper privacy as the fence not high enough and when a bigger cars were coming like vans and lorry’s they could see through it. The house was not clean enough, lots of spiders and dust everywhere. I won’t be going back there as it was too expensive for the house actually on the main road with no piece and quiet time.

The cottage was really straight forward to get to, we were provided the key box code that lunch time to gain quick access. The driveway was plenty big enough to park our car. It was close to Alton Towers, a nice 15-20 minute journey, plus near by in the gorgeous village of Cheadle there is access to a big Morrisons superstore, a Morrisons newsagents a bit closer, and a lovely Wetherspoons. The nearby drives and views are absolutely spectacular, some really beautiful villages. There are plenty of places to sleep, my 2 older aged children wanted their own beds to sleep in and this was made possible. The kitchen was well equipped, even plastic cups for use in the hot tub. My children enjoyed the swing and climbing frame. It was very clean and heated well. It is worth bearing in mind that it is an old character property and therefore expect a couple lower ceilings in places and taking extra care using the stairs. It was so lovely to relax in the Hot Tub on an evening, it was huge! A video was provided how to use this and is very simple. Extra towels are also provided. Scenery from the hot tub is breath taking.

Only minor inconvenience was the traffic noise during the day, but we weren't really in anyway as we were at Alton Towers, it quietens down hugely for the evening. During the night there is the odd truck that drives past the house and I had my window open as I like fresh air in the night and I was barely disturbed.

Always getting into trouble for noise so not great when you have children that where so happy in the hot tub but couldn’t make any noise or have a laugh and always had the owner complaining
