Lavish 4BR Apartment in the Heart of CPH by The Canals

The apartment's location was excellent, right in the heart of Copenhagen. It's near a metro station, on a direct line from the airport. The flat was clean and pleasant, the beds comfortable. There was plenty of pillows, towels and additional blankets. The kitchen was well stocked, except that there was only two wine glasses. Everything worked; the WiFi, cooker, dishwasher, TV, hot water... Access was easy; a key code on the external doors so no key hassles. It felt safe and secure. The management company communicated well.

The layout of the flat didn't work for our group; four friends sharing. The kitchen and bathroom was accessed through one of the bedrooms. When anyone needed the kitchen or bathroom at night, they passed through that person's room while they were sleeping. Another "bedroom", off the hallway, doesn't have a door so it's not a private space, it's a large cupboard with a bed. The bathroom, too small for a four bedroom apartment, is located off the kitchen.

It was a pity that one of the rooms did not have a door and that we had to walk through one of the bedrooms to get to the bathroom

Location was amazing. Cool cafe (which I didn't go to) downstairs. Lots of space. Good value for money. Everything pretty clean. But there were quite a few little tings that were not great. If it wasn't for the location, it would have been a lot more disappointing.

No microwave or washer / dryer that I knew of. I would have expected a place like this to have all three. The oven thing was impossible to figure out how to use. All the controls were logographic - no text. I tried using it once and it nearly burned the sandwich I was trying to heat up. A microwave would have been so nice to have - even a cheap one. Also, The bathroom is tucked behind one of the bedrooms, so if you're in any of the other three bedrooms you'd have to walk through the this bedroom (the largest one actually) to get to it. Shower is quite small. There are very few lights for such a large space, and the ones that were there were not very bright. Wifi was not very stable - it kept dropping for me and didn't even connect on my iPad for the first couple days. This was probably the worst. Finally, I didn't like being asked to wash the dishes, empty the trash, and tidy up before I left - I know I sound like a princess saying this but isn't this the job of the cleaners? I dunno maybe it's a Danish egalitarian/socialist thing and I've been living in Asia too long. None of the things above were dealbreakers and I might stay here again but I hope the host will address these things. P.S. one suggestion I would make is for a property at this level, you might consider having a welcome book of sorts with instructions, information about the location, etc. This is what we have for all our Airbnb properties.

Very good location .. close to everything down town Copenhagen. The automatic check in process worked fine. Possible to find parking near by. Stayed one night.

Appartment is in old house. One small toilet/ shower. Sewerage smelled but it disappeared after pouring water.
