ORCHID LODGE SAMUI - Bed & Breakfast

It's an absolutely lovely place, and its owner is lovelier still! I felt extremely well taken care of, and would come back in a heartbeat.

Kristen and the team were fabulous, very attentive, caring, and friendly. The accommodation was better than the photos. Clean, comfortable, and the finer details made it feel like home from home. Breakfast was fantastic, with healthy fruits and freshly cooked eggs and french toast. Highly recommend this for a relaxing and peaceful holiday. Kristen would bring a little treat out to us while we were enjoying the pool (often to ourselves!)

Nothing everything was perfect

I traveled solo to Thailand for a month, needing a break to step away from my daily struggles and truly unwind. Thailand is ideal for any type of traveler, so I balanced my time between intense hiking and pure relaxation. For the final week of my trip, I set my sights on Koh Samui, searching for a centrally located place that was still peaceful and away from the crowds. After browsing countless listings and reviews, I discovered The Orchid Lodge. The photos exuded tranquility—exactly what I was looking for. Plus, the price was surprisingly reasonable for what was offered—great value for money—so I booked it without hesitation. I could go on and on about this place. Kristen, who owns and single-handedly runs the lodge (don’t be misled by the term lodge—it’s far more than that), is truly remarkable. I arrived at 10:30 PM, exhausted, and there she was, waiting with a platter of fresh fruit and a drink. Her warm smile instantly reassured me that I had made the right choice to end my vacation. The lodge itself is spotless, impeccably maintained, and has a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Kristen is an incredibly kind and attentive host, taking care of every request, helping with bookings, and offering valuable insights on the best spots in Koh Samui—including hidden gems off the beaten path. Honestly, I can’t stop raving about this place to all my friends heading to Koh Samui. Without a doubt, I’ll be returning to Thailand, and when I do, Orchid Lodge Samui will be my go-to accommodation. Thank you, Kristen, for making the end of my vacation absolutely perfect!

We stayed at Orchid Lodge for 4 nights. The location is a few minutes away from Lamai and the main road but is, therefore, very well suited for the ones who want to stay away from the very busy Chaweng and Lamai areas. It involves a rather steep ascent, which is reachable without any problems with the – in Thailand generally used – scooters, but we would recommend using a more motorized scooter, especially when using it for two people. The property and the garden are, overall, well maintained. The pool and the garden are very nice. The cottages are functionally equipped with attention to detail, e.g. our cottage had a multiple plug, Asian snacks, it was possible to get different towels for the pool and the beach. The breakfast was delicious – we were served a great variety of different fruit (pineapple, mango, passion fruit, dragon fruit, melon), toast, pancakes, yoghurt, coffee. Our host, Kristin and her staff, were exceptionally friendly. She gave us a lot of recommendations for Ko Samui, where to have dinner, which beaches to try, which nighttime markets to see etc. This was extremely helpful for someone who has never stayed on Ko Samui. Kristin also organized the scooters for us and booked a sailing trip in advance. Overall, we had a fantastic time, are very much looking forward to coming back soon and would also recommend staying at Orchid Lodge.

It’s not very close to the beach, but we knew that beforehand. You definitely need a scooter.

Kristen was everything. Properly was perfectly calm, clean and beautiful. Pool was gorgeous. Breakfast exceptional. I cannot recommend enough for those wanting a relaxing break. Also, big love to all the staff and the cats.

The most beautiful and peaceful place that we have stayed in a month of travelling around this region of Thailand. 15 minutes drive from lively Lamai, 30 from the mayhem of Chaweng with plenty of bars/restaurants in between. But it was blissful to come home to the beautiful sanctuary of Orchid Lodge after visiting these places and whilst a car or scooter is pretty much a must, but it’s a price well worth paying in order to enjoy this little slice of paradise.The level of detail within the accommodation, the setting and the personalised hosting service that Kristin and her team provide is second to none. If you’re a female traveler looking for a safe place to stay or a couple who want a romantic setting in which to relax and unwind this is the place for you. Kristin has created something really quite exceptional in Orchid Lodge.

Nothing to dislike. The reviews here told us all we needed to know and the experience of actually staying here exceeded all expectations. It’s the first place we stayed where we felt sad to be leaving. We will most certainly be returning to Orchid Lodge again in the future ;-)
