La piccionaia - Le Case del Dria - Roof terrace

Andrea, who owns the property, was an excellent communicator. Friendly, helpful and flexible. He arranged to meet us from a late flight to show us the apartment. He left a well stocked fridge for breakfasts and 3 ways of making coffee! He sent us details of favourite restaurants which helped us choose. The 74 steps up to the top floor were a good challenge. Thank you Andrea.

Very comfortable apartament in the heart of the old city. Perfectly equiped, high quality and attention to every detail. Owner, Andrea - very kind and helpfull. The food prepared for our reception was a very pleasant surprise. Strongly recommend this place♥️

Everything is lovely and unique and very comfortable - a true home from home. Andrea is a super host and generous with time and detail.

The stairs are real but then we knew that before we chose to stay - just take them slooooow!

The location was ideal on the boundary of the centro storico and le strado nuovo. Easy walking distance to the train station and bus station (Principe)and also close to the port. We found it quiet but with everything close at hand. We visited in January but greatly enjoyed sitting up on the roof terrace in the sunshine overlooking San Siro church.

Everything was very well run. From first communication, check in, advice & suggestions for our stay. Apartment was very well appointed with everything you could think of for comfort. Felt like a home away from home. Location was also 10/10.

La Piccionaia was exceptionally well located, right inside the historic center with easy walking access to all of the major sites. I would note with absolute accolades for the always-immediate access to Andrea, the gracious host who was always available for recommendations about everything, even niche questions ( I was looking for an artisanal panettone). The facility itself was comfortable and large, and it had a gorgeous and private rooftop terrace. BTW, it was inexpensive for sure, especially given the size of the place.

This is not a complaint on my part, at all. But it is something to note for some patrons — you have to walk up four flights of stairs. It was NOT hard, and Andrea showed up when I arrived both to lead me to the kind-of “hidden” street and also to help with bags. I’m 71, so no spring chicken, and the stairs were no big deal. Again, not a complaint about the place, but there are the “sights and smells” of the old city! :-) (It’s a real working-people city, that is. Part of the charm … (really.)

Andrea was very welcoming and met us as arranged. The flat had everything we needed and was very homely and comfortable.
