GBHost was great
GBGBGreat location a stones throw from Southsea beach. The room was spacious, well appointed & recently refurbished. Excellent kitchen facilities available for shared use - a real bonus. The staff were really helpful & friendly (thank you Tivo!).
The property seems to be undergoing refurbishment, and some of the communal areas / corridors are a bit tatty - but that really didn’t affect our stay there. The deposit scheme seems a bit odd, but don’t let that put you off staying here: it’s great value for money & we really enjoyed our stay.

The staff were intruding, facility is like a prison, unable to have visitor, unable to use balcony, shower was flooding, access card didn't work have to manually open door

Room we were in (ground floor) drainage from shower not great but it was a minor issue. Didn’t affect the quality of the stay.

GBIt was clean.
Hard to get in contact with the staff, had to give them £50 cash for the deposit (the money doesn't matter, but who carries cash now?), the welcome was more like a site induction which was way over the top and we had to wait around 20 minutes before we could get our room key. An overnight stay doesn't require a 20 minute lecture on how an electric card key works. It's an old converted house (we were in an old living room) with the decor exactly as it would have been previously. It was fine for an over night stay, but I wouldn't return.

The deposit & chargeable parking I find a bit mean
GBProximity to beach, pier and pleasure gardens (cafe, pedalo swans, mini golf, rose & Japanese gardens, model village) was excellent. The bedding and towels were changed, smart tv.
Arrived to 'you are on CCTV' notice in a very tired and scruffy reception area. Had to pay an additional deposit and every adult had to give ID. Room described as a 'suite' was a large bedroom with small shower/ loo. Noise travels very easily. Overall I would say it feels like furnished student accommodation. Most disappointingly my car was damaged in the paid private car park by someone reversing into me, the attendant took photos, called the office and assured me they would look into it in the morning - I have since contacted them twice with no reply all.
