Hill Garth Cottage - 2 Bed with Wood Burning Hot Tub

It was very clean and very modern and very good value for money. There was a full set of kitchen appliances and very good communication by the host. I would definitely return!

The property was clean and well decorated. Nice furnishings. The beds were very comfortable and there was a good amount of furniture/ pillows/ blankets/ kitchen utensils etc. It’s in a good location in Wooler and nice to have the wood burning tub to use on an evening. Close to shops/ cafes and amenities.

It was ok for us, but just a note that the bathroom is downstairs- just off the kitchen and VERY small. The shower size was very limited - difficult if you have mobility issues. Parking wasn’t easy as the public parking area was full so we had to find somewhere up the road. Neighbour was angry as he’s fed up of people coming and going from the house. Wood fire tub takes some preparing so make sure you priorities that on arrival as it takes several hours to fill/ warm and you can only use it between 4-11pm.

Had to download an app to lock/unlock door - no choice about this and wasn't keen on having to give my personal info to a 3rd party. Hot tub wasn't described as wood-burning when we booked (they updated the description later on). Again, not keen on this - particulates are known to be bad for environment. We didn't use it. A compact dining table/ chairs would enhance the property. Eating on laps wasn't very comfortable. 'Welcome pack' not very welcoming- list of rules on front cover. EDITED TO ADD: The property has responded that we didn't follow the rules and that we left the property in a 'terrible state'. This is a lie. We followed the rules to the letter. Before check-out, we washed up and put everything away, hoovered, emptied all bins and put out rubbish and recycling, wiped surfaces, stripped beds and put sheets in laundry baskets as requested, even removed dead leaves that had fallen on the patio. We left it in a clean state, as we always do with any holiday property. I believe the property owner said this about us because they did not like our review.

Great location for a base if you're wanting to explore the coast. We visited Bamburgh, Seahouses, Craster, Druiridge Bay and Wooler Common. The living room was very nicely decorated. Wooler town is very interesting, some quirky shops and some wonderful walks.

The TV was disappointing, after a long day I like to wind down with Prime or Netflix but the WiFi router didn't apply to the TV. The shower was revealing dirt in the grouting. The toilet brush was speckled with what looked like faeces. Some of the crockery had food on it. The hot tub, which is what made us choose this property turns out to be a metal bath with a log burner attached. After watching a video sent to me a couple of days before we arrived, showing us the hot tub takes 2.5 hours to warm up our luxury dream was scuppered! Felt we were mis-sold here!. Only one hand rail down the steep staircase. Wooler itself could do with litter pickers, a lots of rubbish discarded.

It was a beautiful place and had really lovely interior I was very disappointed that we could not use the hot tub due to water not pumping through the hose as this was one of the main reasons we booked

Beautiful house, well maintained, well thought out for any guests that wish to stay there and perfect for me and my daughter.

No bath and shower space was a little tight.
