Access was challenging with steep road and slippy surface. Arrived at agreed time to a cold cottage. Spent most of the evening trying to get warm.Items missing from kitchen and had an unpleasant exchange with owner. He said we should leave in the morning. We did

Great place with plenty of space, more like a cosy flat really.

Getting to it is difficult as it is not in the gps. You need to go up a track called Artists Way from the village of Furnace, which heads inland from the main road close to the bridge. You then go a few kilometres up this track until you get to a cleared area with the buildings on the right. The place could do with a modest sign to let you know you are there.

Great host, helpful and great communication. The cottage is quirky and well furnished. All you need and the location is wonderful. Can't wait to stay again. No hesitation.

Very polite host. Spacious garden and very calm environment. The beds were very comfortable, and the cottage had some character!

The shower and the sink in the bathroom struggled to drain, nothing major.

Its location and was very quiet

This has been our favourite so far and we've stayed at a lot of places. We had our own little cottage with a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with Netflix and prime logged in. It was super clean, modern and comfortable. Loads of memorabilia to keep you entertained. We didn't want to leave it was so cosy. Dave was friendly and helpful. We didn't see him again after he showed us around. You travel a mile down a lane and its the first place you see. Next to a beautiful brook. It was very picturesque and I kept expecting to see the forest creatures.

It's very quiet. The heating worked well. Great shower.

The long single track road leading to the property is not for the faint hearted, it's full of potholes and ruts. There is no mobile phone signal at the property, which is even more concerning when you see how many skulls and references to zombies there are in the decor. The kitchen has only one socket for all appliances and the work surfaces are grubby. The whole place needs a proper deep clean and scrub; the kitchen surfaces are tacky to the touch and there are dust and cobwebs in the nooks and crannies. The bathroom sink takes ages to drain and the towels and sheets didn't feel fresh. The bedroom door doesn't close because the bed is too long and the windows all need cleaning and better latches. The place lacks the female touch - it's like a man cave that was thrown together some decades ago and never had an update or a proper hoover round. You also have to be careful walking in the parking area where you risk treading in dog excrement.
