the room was very loud and cold with single glazing windows next to a main road the shower wasn't very warm and the pressure was almost non existant

Beautifully appointed room and bathroom. Hotel a 10 minute drive from St Fagans. The Heathcock is actually a thriving pub with a few rooms two floors up. Through the bar is an exceptionally good informal restaurant with a superb menu that varies frequently according to availability. We didn't know about this, but they managed to fit us in for a later booking.

Steep narrow stairs, but the staff carried our bags up and down. No breakfast on site, but a very good one available at the Heathcock deli about 5 minutes walk away. You have to park wherever you can find a space in a nearby road. Traffic noise, because the pub is right on a busy road

Well thought out accommodation. I'd add a hook to the back of the bathroom door (or on one of the walls) to have a toiletry bag, other than that, they've thought of everything!

We had a nice time. We were able to check in early. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfy. You couldn't hear a sound from the bar downstairs.

There was no hand soap in the bathroom, which seemed odd. We used the shower gel bottle from the shower, but a hand soap dispenser might have been a nice touch.
