APPLEDOWN - Secluded Rural Retreat in Kingsdown, 10 mins to BEACH

Secluded enough but not too far from local towns.

Honestly if I had to pick a con, maybe the grass being long walking up to the washing line 😂🤷🏼‍♂️

The quietness of the place. Dark skies, dog walks north south east west. I loved the woodland carpeted with blue bells. The bungalow accommodation and facilities were to a high standard. Everything worked. Excellent guide book, with description of all internal and external facilities. Loved the back garden, contained for dogs. Brilliant for an everning sun downer. I particularly liked looking at the the row of black poplars.

I missed a steamer for cooking. Sugar a bit out of date! Cafetiere was broken. (small things).

A beautiful bungalow, in quiet countryside. Everything was clean and tidy. Big rooms, a lot of space. Fabulous garden, which the dogs thoroughly enjoyed running around. A washing machine, rotary line and pegs, which was so useful. We were blessed with the best weather (apart from a thunderstom on night one), so made fulll use of the comfortable garden furniture, with perogla and shade. We stumbled across this lovely place, as we had just been let down by Parkdean Resorts. We had a lodge booked since last year and found out (by chance) the lodge was no longer available, but they hadn't bothered telling us. We were lucky as we did get our money back and found Appledown. It is said, everything happens for a reason.

If I had to say something I didn't like, it would only be that the hook for the back door key sticks out and I caught my arm on it a few times. Probably in too much of a rush to get to the lovely garden.
