The Captain's Retreat, Quiet 1 Bed Dog Friendly

We love the accommodation and the village. Kevin is an excellent host and the festive bottle was a really nice touch. We had a wonderful Christmas. Wilf, our dog, also had a great time. Very dog friendly. This was our second visit.

The Captain’s Retreat is set in a beautiful scenic location. The property itself was very comfortable.

Perfect location in a small, very friendly village within easy reach of beautiful coastline and beaches in both Dorset and Devon. The local pub is just around the corner. Although this pub is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, there are a number of other pubs within a few minutes drive from the village. All were very accommodating of our very large dog and all served very good food. Parking at the property is easy and Kevin (host) was very friendly and helpful.

There was nothing that we disliked and we would stay again.

Had everything you need for a short stay, accommodation clean and comfortable

This is an excellent little property, situated in a great area for exploring Dorset. Although we did not meet the host, communication with him was spot on. Cosy, comfortable and clean.

The only negative comment relates to the area where the car was parked - the surface made it difficult to keep the floor clean in the apartment as the fine gravel stuck to our shoes (the weather didn't help).

The location was great. The bed was very comfortable, Kitchen and bathroom were well equipped.

Could do with a dimmer switch. Also an occasional table for drinks nearer to the sofa.

Lovely place, beautiful views, modern and clean

It could do with an oven and ideally some new pans, but it has a microwave combi grill and a pub just round the corner
