Wastwater Cottage on The Big "W" Ranch

Our stay at Wastwater Cottage at The Big W Ranch was absolutely perfect. As soon as I arrived, I was struck by the peaceful atmosphere and stunning mountain views. The cottage was comfortable, well-equipped, spacious and immaculately clean, offering a perfect and relaxing space to unwind. The location couldn’t be better, just a short drive/walk from Wastwater Lake and an ideal base for hiking Great Gable, Scafell Pike and surrounding fells. Whether you’re after an adventurous trek or a relaxing escape in nature, this place has it all. The ranch adds a unique touch to the experience, and the surrounding countryside made waking up the stunning scenery even more special. I’d highly recommend Wastwater Cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay in the Lake District. I can’t wait to return!

The views were incredible, and my partner got to take in the horses, feed them, and put them in their stables.

Could have done with a mop and a brush to keep on top of the dog hair and muck from outside after our walks. On our final evening, we experienced noise from the apartment above, this is not a reflection on the host however as they made it very clear in the welcome pack to keep noise to a minimum and respect the other guests.

The amazing views, the friendly host , blending architecture with the natural environment, secluded place, nice and quiet, recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants to have a quality time in a comfortable place!

Floors seeped water so was constantly wet and shoes were not allowed indoors so wet feet.owner not helpful at all.told me to mop the floor with the dog sheets provided and empty the humidifier which was full t the brim.i was supposed to be on holiday as I have not long come out of hospital.muddy paw prints up door.dog hairs all over.freezing cold and no way of providing heat it was controlled elsewhere so off all day til 15.00and off over night.never been so cold and I have chronic arthritis and copd so the cold and the wet has not done me much good.
