Rose & Star Cottage

Fantastic location, and gorgeous apartment.

Could have maybe provided some bath salts or something for the tub, but that’s not a big issue.

Really cute cottage in a great location in regards to being close to the shops, with a nice with a little garden. Very homely feel and clean. Nice touch providing chocolates etc. Great recommendations to explore the local area.

The property was up a steep hill with no local parking which was hard for my older parents. The property seems to be set up more for the winter months - a hot water bottle available but no fans or AC. Sleeping with the windows open resulted in the blinds clanking throughout the night and mosquitoes in the room (with no repellent available). The outdoor furniture was broken/ unsafe to sit on.

Great experience at this cottage. Communication beforehand with Aimee was exceptional. The place was well-located, just off the best street in Frome with great restaurants and wine bars a stones throw away. We can recommend the High Pavement and had a delicious meal there. The place itself is a proper slice of (Grade 2?) history but equipped with all the mod-cons. The only thing to mention is that the stairs could be a little hard to manage if you're not limber. Recommended!

As other reviews have mentioned, the location of this property is perfect for a visit to Frome, with the shops and restaurants on the doorstep. We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is small but perfectly formed, cosy, comfortable and welcoming. The hosts were very helpful and provided useful information with regard to car parks, favourite restaurants etc. We tried a couple of the suggested restaurants and were not disappointed. Definitely recommended.

Gorgeous property perfect location. Right in the heart of Frome

Lovely decor. Super cosy and the host was extremely helpful. Ensuring that we had all the information needed to access the property and the best places to eat, drink and visit.

We throughly enjoyed our 2nd visit to Rose & Star cottage. The hosts Aimee & Romesh couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating. The cottage was warm and cosy on arrival with plenty of hot water. We absolutely love the location, so close to the little independent shops and restaurants. I’m sure we will return again soon.

Walk out the front door and you have the best of Frome right there. Such a convenient location to explore the wonderful Catherine Hill’s shops and restaurants. We did spend rather allot of time snuggled up in the cottage though as it’s so cosy and has everything you need for a comfortable but practical stay, such as towels, tea towels/washing liquid/ dishwasher tabs and shampoo/ body wash. Things that self catering properties don’t usually provide. We will definitely be coming to stay again.

Nothing really, the stairs were a little steep but that’s to be expected with a property of this age

Location was excellent, beds were very comfortable, decorated beautifully throughout, with lovely fixtures and fittings, really enjoyed it x

The only tv is in the main bedroom, this was quite awkward as the children could only watch if on the bed, not that we used it much as we were out most of the time but just not great . There is a large window in the bathroom with beautiful views but did feel a bit exposed with neighbouring houses, maybe a blind would be the answer. On the third step from the bottom on the upper stairs there is a nail that has come lose and is sitting quite proud of the step I caught my foot on it a couple of times, could do with some attention. The provided milk sachets and marmalade were unfortunately both out of date . It is a lovely place though
