Rose & Star Cottage

Location was excellent, beds were very comfortable, decorated beautifully throughout, with lovely fixtures and fittings, really enjoyed it x

The only tv is in the main bedroom, this was quite awkward as the children could only watch if on the bed, not that we used it much as we were out most of the time but just not great . There is a large window in the bathroom with beautiful views but did feel a bit exposed with neighbouring houses, maybe a blind would be the answer. On the third step from the bottom on the upper stairs there is a nail that has come lose and is sitting quite proud of the step I caught my foot on it a couple of times, could do with some attention. The provided milk sachets and marmalade were unfortunately both out of date . It is a lovely place though

We had the best time - the cottage was perfectly located and the hosts had gone to such an effort to provide great recommendations for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Even clear directions on where we could park. The cottage itself was very clean and perfect for a short stay - cooking is a bit limited so would recommend you walk 5 minutes to the many recommendations they provide.

A TV downstairs would have been great for an evening movie, and be warned that the stairs are very steep within the property!

We loved how we could just walk out of the cottages front door and be right in the heart of the town. We were visiting friends in Frome and they showed us around the gorgeous cobbled streets, there are loads of amazing cafes and wonderful independent shops and everyone in Frome seemed really friendly. The Cottage was so sweet and beautifully decorated with everything you need for a relaxing stay, I feel in love with the open top bath in the master bedroom! The hosts were very helpful and also recommended some fabulous local places to visit in town and nearby. We hope to come and stay again.

Great location and a charming, neat cottage with lovely modern fixtures. The shower was fantastic, and the host was very helpful and accommodating with a special request, which added a personal touch to our stay.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there were a couple of areas that could be improved for future guests. It would have been lovely to arrive at a warm cottage, especially after traveling, and to have the water heater switched on to make a cup of tea right away. Additionally, we noticed there was no complementary bath soap or shower gel, which are small touches that can make a big difference. These are minor suggestions, and overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I understand it’s an old building but The stairs are a bit hard to navigate, especially for children, I spent 2 days worrying one of the kids were going to hurt themselves. There is only one TV in the house, on the top floor in the master bedroom, which when the house is advertised for families you would expect there to be at least 1 other TV either in the living area or in the 2nd bedroom.

Location was excellent. It granted us a plan within the the story of the village. Centuries old buildings and cobblestoned lanes. We were in an historic and different cottage that was part of what could have been a movie scene. It was visually appealing and fun.

The stairs are tricky but arguably that’s part of the appeal. It’s an old stone cottage. The refurbishment had been well done and offered compact comfort.

It was small and cosy but perfect for our stay. Location was great, close to cafes and shops and all that Frome had to offer. I had messed up our booking getting my dates wrong. The owners were really helpful in sorting things out, and I wasn’t charged for the changes which was really kind and much appreciated.

Stairs are very steep. Not a problem for us, but people with mobility issues might find it difficult. There is a car park near by but you can only park there during the day.
