Apart of York - Walmgate

Really cozy apartment in the heart of York. Andrea was an amazing host, who made sure we had everything in the apartment. From the welcoming board with our names, to special treats and a Christmas tree - everything matching to the Christmas vibe!

Loved everything! A fabulous apartment just a few mins walk from The Shambles. Perfect location being just very slightly outside of the busiest bit of the city but a very easy walk down a road filled with cafes, bars and restaurants - I think my daughter and I counted over 15 different cuisines! Hosts Andrea and Felix were perfect. Lovely above and beyond touches like a welcome sign, fresh milk (they even ask what type you prefer!), butter, mince pies, popcorn, biscuits, chocolates, really made it feel very welcoming. We visited just before Christmas and there was a lovely Christmas tree in the lounge. Communication was spot on throughout and with extremely detailed arrival instructions, including photos for super easy entry. It was also possible for us to check in earlier than the normal check in which was really handy. Inside the apartment is really comfy and cosy and there is everything you could possibly need. It was immaculately clean - and I mean really immaculate! The beds are HUGE with very high quality bedding and super comfy (gosh I miss the bed!). Shower is massive and has two shower heads and under floor heating. Hot water comes out immediately. The hosts were kind enough to let me know that my daughter had left a soft toy behind and arranged with me to send it back to us, which was really appreciated. I would 100% recommend this property and would definitely return. In fact I am planning to re-book for next Christmas already! Just to note as others have mentioned, there are 2 sets of fairly steep stairs, one up form the front door and then another to the bedrooms (with the bathroom being the floor below). This obviously cannot be helped but something to consider for anyone with mobility problems. I have bad knees but I was expecting the stairs after reading the revies and I managed ok, just the bit arriving and leaving with the luggage was a bit tough, but you just take it slowly. Thank you Andrea and Felix for creating such a wonderful accommodation!

Nos dejaron leche, café, té, galletas y cereales. La casa estaba caliente a nuestra llegada. La estancia ha sido fantástica. Volveremos.

The apartment was just lovely. It was beautifully laid out with quirky fabrics / cushions and fabulous York artwork. The little touches of the welcome board, the Christmas tree and little treats were so thoughtful and really made us feel at home. Communication has been brilliant throughout - very kind indeed to send us back the item we left. It’s also very well located near to lovely bars and restaurants, and of course the wonderful Brew York. Absolutely loved it here and will be back.

Nothing to dislike at all. A really lovely place to stay.

The apartment is perfect, bed super comfy, great shower, lovely welcome sign and gifts. Location spot on easy walking distance to everywhere. Hosts great for letting you know all the important things. The place is absolutely spotless, and there are so many useful things in the apartment. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Thanks :-)

Absolutely top notch apartment, far more than we expected. Small touches like welcome board with our names on & birthday card for my partner really made our break enjoyable. Precise and clear instructions for ALL things in the apartment.

The stairs up to the apartment are steep if you have large suitcases. But to be honest the rest of the apartment made up for this.
