A unique, off-grid Eco Friendly Beach House.

Location and water sports/bbq equipment…. Was great

The glasses were mismatching, fewer (maybe?) Only 3 glass glasses for fizz and 3 badly scratched plastic…. The water glasses looked tired too. Only a minor issue. I would definitely recommend for the location.

As a keen birdwatcher this place is marvellous. especially on high tide days. Plus beautiful wild flowers and butterflies. The property was lovely very quirky lots of comfortable seating , Plus the use of a boat and kayaks and paddle boards if your that way inclined. we were a bit too old !! Loved it and would like to return.

The approach road is very bumpy but ok if you drive slowly. As canal boaters we are used to living off grid some people with high powered gadgets might have a problem. Just relax.

This very, very quirky and unique beach house is in a hidden gem of a place ,with stunning Lake at the front and gorgeous beach at the back and wildlife all around is just the perfect little escape. Owner was lovely could not have been more helpful. We will definitely return. Thank you so very much

Perfect location in a unique and quirky house which made it all the more memorable. Off the beaten track track - but not too far as all amenities are close by. The house has everything needed to make for a comfortable stay and the welcome pack is perfectly lovely.

The only possible downtick was the parking is tricky as neighbours seem quite keen on boundaries. Can only for two cars but guess this is enough. It was for us.

Last minute booking for a couple of days relaxation, didn’t disappoint. Right on the beach, so plenty of walks near by. Quirky, loved how it was decorated and styled. Owner is really helpful and lovely. Will definitely stay again

The location is amazing - between the sea and a lake.

Incredible location, even in winter and we had some lovely walks. Sitting watching the world pass by in front of the cottage was good for the soul. We would possibly stay again when it was warmer for a night or two, as it was so lovely.

The fridge did not work, although we were supplied with a cooler box in it's place, which was disappointing, as the property was one of the more expensive on offer in the area. There is no facility to keep anything frozen. There was a vacuum, but as the property is off grid, this did not charge, so we battled to clean up after ourselves, and with wood as the only source of heating this created quite a mess, which we would like to have cleaned up using something other than the brush & pan. We had no problem with the lights or the TV, and these worked fine for the duration of the stay, despite it being winter and them running off batteries not electricity. We did make sure to only switch on what we needed, and candles were supplied, so we did make use of these at night. It would have been nice to have a few family board games as an alternative in the evenings, so be sure to take some! We could not get hot water, as the thermostat had been turned down prior to our arrival. With hindsight we should have called the owner to ask about this, but we just thought lukewarm water was all we could get, based on the other issues, and frankly expected this to be checked before we arrived. We regularly camp and so the off grid nature of the property did not worry us, and small issues, like the bathroom lights not working (we were given battery operated lights, which were fine) could be dealt with, but we felt overall the property was expensive for what we got. The property was cold and damp without the wood burners on, so when we were out for the day it took a while to heat the house up again on our return. This was quite a costly additional expense each night, as the wood supplied did not last more than a night.
