A unique, off-grid Eco Friendly Beach House.

Location was amazing - just a few steps to an expansive beach in one direction; just a few steps to the lake in the other. Definitely one of the best properties in the row for location and facilities. The little extras - everything you need for supper if you've not got to the shops; firewood; candles, etc. - made us feel very welcome; not to mention everything you would need for messing about on the lake. Ideal for a family with children who like their water sports and outdoor activities. The wood burners were great - especially the outdoor one. Sitting outdoors, watching the sunset over the beach, without being cold in February, was fabulous. Great, safe and welcoming place for the dog too - our Bonzo had the time of his life!

Not ideal for tall adults - our 6' 3" boys bumped their heads a few times - and the fabulous beds, (other than the master bed), were not long enough between headboard and footboard. The bathroom is off the kitchen. Limited space in bedrooms.

We loved the paddleboarding and took our bikes for cycling as well.

Lovely, quirky little beach house in a stunning location on the beach path. Beautiful sunsets and views across to Lincolnshire on a clear day. Lovely welcoming committee from the ducks and so peaceful with the sound of the birds on the shore. The owners have provided everything you could need for your stay and the kitchen is the best stocked I have ever come across in any property we have rented, there really was nothing that hadn't been thought through. The double bed was a dream - my best night's sleep in years although I'm sure the sea air and peace and quiet helped. No wi-fi and off grid power meant evenings by the fire and candlelight and the chance to re-connect without interference. There was a good mobile signal, so you could keep up with the outside world if required. The owners provided wood for the stove for the first night and it was easy/cheap to get supplies locally. Lots of places worth visiting - Heacham, Wells and Cromer, Kings Lynn and RAF Marham (fantastic archive/museum).

Nothing really to dislike. Just to note it is "off grid" and that the electricity is supplied via solar panels and a wind turbine and stored via a bank of batteries. The owners advise that this can run low or even cut out depending on how much electric you use, so they helpfully provide candles and battery lamps for evening use. Having said that, there is a washing machine, vacuum cleaner and a small dishwasher so I suspect in the Summer months when sunshine is ample this is less of an issue than our stay in October where the battery power was low and consequently the fridge was warmer than outside, but we bought a bag of ice for £1 at the local Lidl and this solved the problem for our 2 night stay. The gas oven was fine using the hob and grill fine but the oven didn't achieve desired temperature - so don't expect to cook masterpieces. Steps to the beach path not easy for anyone with mobility issues as no handrail.

Beautiful location, plenty to do on site. We played in the water a few times. And enjoyed games by the fire in the evening

Directions could of been easier to follow

We loved how individual the beach house felt. Also being between the lake & the beach was pretty special. We saw a murmuration of sea birds after the tide went out.

The track down to the beach houses with all the pot holes was quite precarious. We also felt the sitting room could have been a bit more comfortable & the kitchen needed a toaster.

The owners provided full use of all boating equipment including safety gear We had access to all their outdoor facilities chairs cushions bbq’s

The property was very full of owners personal belongings so there was very little space for our own. I loved this place for a long weekend but glad we didn’t stay for a week as we had to live out of our suitcase and cooking facilities was very challenging.
