Ro Yo Rock Ella

The property is really unique with the most stunning view. The staff are FANTASTIC and can’t do more for you. Chef Tony is amazing!!

The TV wasn’t working as the bill had not been paid as per notice on TV screen. Description says hot tub and sauna but that is not true. Spoke to the manager and he said that’s the bath tub, which was very misleading for us. Pictures show a fruit bowl and bathroom basics like shaving set etc but none of this is provided. Bathroom tap was dirty. Stains on the bed sheets and towels. Bath didn’t work and leaked all over the floor. Room needs painting and facilities need updating. Lots of random rugs all over the room that are tatty and shabby looking. The place is 30 minutes outside of town so very pricey for the location you can get cheaper in town.

First of all I want to mention the very nice staff. The guy named Vinoj was very helpful and did everything to make our stay as good as possible. Upon arrival, we agreed that he would show us around Ella and all the most famous objects the next morning. He planned the route so well that we were everywhere on time and in place. we saw the train coming and the nine arch bridge. Breakfast was also very tasty.

[READ "WHAT WE DIDNT LIKE" FIRST] The communication prior to arrival was good - the property confirmed our arrival time to time our honeymoon setup, which was SO cute !! Our bed felt clean, the view is STUNNING, and the manager/chef was very kind and helpful. We asked for a bottle of wine from town and something off the menu, and they made it work for us. The location is remote, 30+ mins up the mountain from Ella, would only recommend coming here for a night or two away.

[READ THIS FIRST] OUTSIDE ELLA, including a rocky road that our driver was very nervous to drive over so it took us an additional 30 minutes to go the last 1 mile. Really the location of this place was the issue for me, i missed the other reviews saying how far it was, so hope others catch this one. Unfortunately the flower-filled bath they arranged for our arrival was cold, it turns out the water heater is VERY small and only lasts about 5 minutes.

Its a quiet a bumpy road to get there, but its worth it. Very friendly staff and the place is clean. Good breakfast too.

It is my 3rd time in Sri Lanka. There are very few places that i would 100% recommend to my friends or family. This one leave you in "awww". First - memorable TUK TUK drive to the property where hotel is located. Its the whole experience! The room is so cute and lovely, it feels like home. If you ever had a dream to read from your bedroom and have best view of the world - this is it:) People who run the place - are extremely friendly, helpful, organized. Breakfast was great! The little kitten Rosy - is fantastic too and i hope she is doing well! 💖🙏🏻 I will be back again here, but this time for 3 nights at least. We miss you!

The fact that hotel is remote in my opinion is an advantage as Ella is crazy busy. This hotel is exactly to serve your experience of tea plantations. Wish you all the best 💖

Highly recommend staying here. Relaxing and peaceful sitting on the balcony looking out over the valley. It is located outside of Ella township but getting there is easy and all part of the adventure!

The rooms are comfortable and the terrace offers breathtaking views. Prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. Highly recommended!
