Lodge Nine for 6 with Hot Tub - Spa Resort in Devon

Had a lovely relaxing break in the nature with my family and enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with the jets on after a long walk around the woodlands

Location is geat, really close to all amenities in Finlake resort and at the end of a cul de sac which was nice and quiet. Has everything needed in the lodge including a lot of utensils for kitchen. Finlake resort is always a lovely place to stay over the Christmas period and is nicely decorated throughout will log reindeer and snowmen.

This is purely for the benefit of future holiday makers so feel it is important to highlight any negatives, so they can hopefully be rectified and improve the lodge for everyone. The following did not detract from how good the stay was at the lodge but I do feel they need to be addressed. - The hot tub did seem dirty and did not look like the water had been changed from previous stays due to the colour and the smell. - Some kitchen utensils did not seem like they were washed properly so had to be washed again by ourselves before use. - There were alot of paw prints and hand prints and other liquid marks on the windows that were on the decking side, and bits of card and wrapping paper from christmas were also left on the decking. Quite a few hand and fingerprints on the glass dining table which again we had to clean before use. - The carpet and sofas do have an unpleasant odour and did not want to use sofas without putting our own blankets down beforehand. I know the host will reply to this review saying that we did not notify them or housekeeping of any issues while we were in the lodge. This almost dismisses our opinions, but I do not feel it is our job to spend time as paying customers, to contact them while on holiday, and have any disruptions from maintenance or cleaner teams to our well deserved time away as a family. Again I hope this review will be taken as constructive and did not at all ruin our holiday as we always anjoy our stay at Finlake resort.

The location was good and the proximity of the shop and Spa. Nice grounds to walk around too

The requirement to pay for the gym. There was a burst pipe which meant we had no water overnight.

It was clean, comfortable and spacious. It had everything we needed.
