Spacious 3-Bed Lodge with Hot Tub Near Waterpark and Trails

Spacey had everything we needed

Finlake Resort and the Sirona Spa are very well kept. We enjoyed the pool and particularly the spa. It's family and dog friendly with spacious lodges set in attractive woodland. It's close to Dartmoor and other areas of natural beauty. There was lots to like about the Lodge. There has been some upgrading with bedroom furniture, sofas and kitchen units. The negatives, I have listed below. I reported my concerns to Devon Holidays, received an apology and an assurance that the issues will be rectified before the arrival of the next guests.

The Lodge itself was nice and spacious but we had some issues with maintenance. The plinth beneath the kitchen units kept falling off. The oven had not been cleaned and was extremely dirty and the freezer needs defrosting. The front door lock needs replacement as seized up.The frying pan was terrible. Some of the beds could do with new mattresses.

Clean, spacious. Love having two bathrooms.

Had a lovely stay at this lodge with my family during new years. Hot tub was lovely, host was great with good communication and very responsive. However some of the aspects of the lodge are dated - lying upstairs in the double bed, I was hit on the head one night by part of the wooden door frame falling off the wall. Having looked at it - it had been blue tacked onto the wall, so was a known issue by the hosts. Other than that the lodge is lovely but could do with more kitchen cutlery e.g. teaspoons and breakfast bowls.

The resort had great facilities and kept the whole family active and happy. We loved the location and explored the nearby beaches. The lodge itself was a good size and we liked the luxury of the hot tub. Great to be near the woods and hear the birds.

Some slight niggles with the lodge such as not much space to dry towels, clothes etc Pans weren't non stick. Shower didn't drain well.

The location of the lodge was great right opposite all the amenities. The lodge was spacious.

The lodge was tired and needed lots of TLC. I have reported everything to the company booked with but have yet to receive a reply. I paid an exceptional price due to it being Christmas but didn’t receive the standard expected. Cleanliness was an issue, hot tub dirty on arrival and only checked once during the 5 day stay. Dirt/rubbish under sofas, toilet leaking, shower head leaking, 2 of the 4 gas hob burners were not working so had to return home to collect a steamer for Christmas dinner. Dining room table had clearly not been extended in a long time as the insert was disgustingly dirty. Whisk and scissors broken in utensil draw, mismatched crockery. Bed valances stuff under mattress and not laid out. The hoover smelt of ‘sick’ when in use 🤮unfortunately not an enjoyable Christmas as expected and this is the 5th year I have booked Finlake and never had this before. All the above should have been avoidable with routine weekly checks. I will await my response from Devon Holidays.

Property was quiet and out of the way very relaxing atmosphere having a washing machine in the property was great

The lodges are tiered looking inside and over cramped with stuff in the kitchen and not very clean carpets are dirty could do with deep cleaning and revamping/ modernising inside No room for travel cot in main bedroom
