Little Cosy Getaway - York

My family really enjoys the stay there. The house itself is clean and tidy, quiet, well-equipped as described, two bedrooms with two toilets upstairs and living room and kitchen downstairs. Ryan gives very clear and helpful information. It is indeed a pleasant time for family stay.

It is actually not a big problem with a bus. The position is a little out of walking distance from the center of York for families with kids.

Nothing. It was really overpriced.

The posted pictures advertising the house are far beyond the reality. The house was in a really bad condition. The drains were smelly, the house was dirty, the street parking is in a tiny street making it hard to park. The host was not helpful at all, even proposed for a 15 pound fee in case we wanted a late check out. Prime example of the situation is when my wife tried to take a bath. The bathroom was located in the second floor (2 floor house). After a while, I heard water dripping from the ceiling right in front of the entrance hall. I don’t even know if that’s safe as there is electric supply on the ceiling. I informed the owner about the situation and he just said try the other bathroom (there were two of them). It’s ridiculous to have such listings in your app. And for this price !! 140ish pounds for an apartment in a horrible condition. Hopefully, nobody else will waste their money like this. It really ruined our mood for our holiday in York.

Clean, quiet, cared for & welcoming, private …. and free car parking on the street! Good value for money. All that our family could have hoped for and would definitely highly recommend this cosy little house.

Really easy to get to with good parking. The beds were large and comfortable and the two bathrooms were very good. The kitchen was well stocked. The sofa in the lounge was comfy. It was very easy to check in and out. There is a fantastic walk into York along the river which I would recommend.

On street parking but the road is very narrow and parking on both sides so suspect could be problematic but we walked into York center each day only moving the car once to visit the air museum. Walk into the centre was about 20 minutes. Keys in key box at property.

On initial inspection the house looked OK however on closer inspection it is definitely needing some tlc, general tidying (old curtain rail dumped behind bed and boiler cupboard dirty with hole in ceiling) and a deep clean. I had to wash the kitchen floor as my shoes were sticking to it. Also cleaned the overflow in the upstairs bedroom as visible filthy. Feel the house needs a thorough deep clean - inside radiators, cupboards dirty (inside one of the kitchen cupboards with pots and cooking oil was the floor dustpan) The kitchen was not well equipped - you would struggle to cook a meal. No oven trays, oven dishes or grill. Pans that were there were old and well used. Lack of glasses except wine glasses , lack of sharp knives. We had M&S one night that we could put in oven in its own container and otherwise had to eat out. Would not stay again.

The parking on the street was shocking. It’s a terrace and people double park on both sides. Had to leave car on another road for fear of being blocked in or car being damaged. Boiler didn’t work and house was absolutely freezing with children staying with us. Ended up texting a contact on WhatsApp over an hour who couldn’t help us. It ruined our stay. Had said he would compensate us for the inconvenience but never heard another thing. Boiled made awful noise which scared us when following his instructions to try to get it workings. It ruined our night. Everyone sat around in layers and with the duvets off beds to try to keep warm. Just shocking
