Breakfast was cereal, juice and yogurt. A very, warm welcome, room spotless, staff friendly, location fantastic, evening meal was fantastic. Would definitely recommend a visit

Not a continental breakfast

Close to local attractions. Pub staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. Took their recommendation and went to the bull in Colchester. Great night with live music. Our accommodation was very clean. We had everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable.

Only slight downside was the breakfast in our opinion. We had Weetabix, muesli, youghurt, milk, orange juice, tea and coffee. It would have been nice to have had a couple of pastries too.

Excellent pub. Food very, very good. Main courses were very good pub, hearty portions of fresh food. Starters were even better..restaurant quality. No room for dessert! Staff...exceptionally friendly. Room, was very good. In a perfect world, I would have preferred a king bed and a bit firmer, but it was still better than a lot of hotel beds. I would love our local pub to be this good

The location for Colchester & Zoo perfect, evening food excellent, location quiet, hosts very friendly and helpful.

Wet room shower, worked perfectly but not a fan of wetrooms.

Quiet and comfortable place.

Took a while for the staff to work out that I had, indeed, made a reservation and paid up front. After that, no problem. Only a cereal, juice, tea and biscuit breakfast, already in the room. This had been, however, explained in advance, so no problem.
