Arlington House Hotel - Self Check-In Suites

Very easy to access. Was room to store my bike in the utility room.

The accommodation was quiet, comfortable and well set up, it was nicely decorated and was a relaxed place to stay. The entrance stairs were also nicely decorated and carpeted. We were staying for 6 days, so were pleased that towels and teabags etc were topped up part way through the stay. The location was very central to explore Northumberland with a car, and 2 minutes walk from a Coop and nice restaurants. We recommend Milan, Hotel no1 and Ad Gefrin. Parking was easy at the nearby free carpark. We didn't use them, but a shared washer and dryer, and lockable boot lockers would have been ideal for wet walkers.

This is self check-in, but we were told that there was a number to contact if there was a problem. As there was no hairdryer (as promised) we called this number and left a message. Having no response by the next day we sent a further 2 texts. We also tried messaging twice .via Booking.com. After 4 days we finally got an email response, saying sorry and that it would be sorted, but it never was. Lack of hairdryer was an inconvenience but not serious, our concern was that if we had a more serious problem the emergency contact didn't seem to exist. Without this concern we would happily return, but that failure in communication is putting us off.

De communicatie met de eigenaar was slecht, of eigenlijk afwezig. Juist als je in een self-check-in accomodatie overnacht, us het belangrijk dat de eigenaar goed en snel reageert. Deze stuurt alleen automatisch gegenereerde berichten en antwoord niet op vragen. Ook in de kamer zelf is er geen enkele informatie te vinden over de kamer (geen WiFi bijv) of de omgeving.

Well decorated bedrooms , comfortable king size bed and great bathrooms.

Great location, a comfy room with everything we needed

The other guests or residents made noise from 7am both days. The front door slammed shut every time they left or came back and this made our windows and door rattle. Only one window opened in the room, the other two were painted shut

Good location, easy PIN code access, very clean room

The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, the paint fresh, it was good that it had some facilities for catering, I liked that I could heat up a meal and make some breakfast and there was a fridge to keep things cool, the shower was good and plenty of room in the bathroom.

The carpet and the bed cover didn't look clean and there was mince in the sink under the wash bowl which wasn't mine.. There were only wine glasses. A couple of small straight glasses would have been useful. There was a lot of noise inside the building. There seemed to be no insulation between rooms and I could hear every movement upstairs and whenever any door opened and closed the whole room vibrated. Voices on the landing were so loud I thought they might be about to enter my room. There was a long list of terms and conditions. That's not normal for any kind of hotel. I was supposed to get ID checked by stripe but I only had my bus pass which stripe didn't accept so they didn't insist. But I find this request odd. They already have my name and address and payment It was expensive and I think I've had better service in much cheaper rooms. Satisfaction for the room would be between a straight mouth and a small smile.

I could not get the door code for my stay. I could not access the property. For anyone booking make certain you have the access code not the Booking.com pin.

The shower room was good. Good shower and toiletries provided.

Room austere and completely lacking in decoration, finesse, and comfort. Lighting terrible, no side lamps, a broken Roman blind that couldn’t be raised, broken wall light, rip in the bed throw and missing cutlery. Cheap looking white table for eating. The bedroom was more like hostel accommodation rather than hotel accommodation! Kitchenette area was ok. Shower room was good. We were in the ground floor room called Cold Law - beside front door which slammed shut with such force the whole room shook. Would recommend trying somewhere else.
